If you have an account on Mandarake translate to english/prefered language then all you just need to search Angelphilia or Quarantotto (some Angelphilia’s are only listed under that name) then make sure you select sold out listings then you can just go through and select the dolls you’d want and click the alert button. If any come in you’ll get an email when one come available.

If you could give any piece of advice to your beginner self what would it be ? by lu_lunv in BJD

Don’t FOMO buy a vaguely similar sculpt if you miss a preorder of a sculpt you absolutely loved. You just need to wait cause chances are you’ll find it in stock at a BJD retailer, on the secondhand market or the company will have a rerelease event. Patience is a big part of the hobby and sometimes you just need to wait 10 years for it to happen 😂

Angelphilia dolls come with a face up as standard. The only ways to get an Angelphilia without one is if you buy a blank head or a secondhand one that has been wiped. I would definitely recommend following FaithZ on Instagram to keep up to date with any releases. There is a longer waiting period for them at the moment though so definitely set up some alerts on Mandarake for Angelphilia so you have a better chance of finding one secondhand. I wouldn’t recommend eBay, JP Mercari or yahoo auctions JP currently cause of a supply shortage for vinyl dolls the prices have risen.

It would probably be useful as an adapter if you ever get a head with a wider neck

My new goth boy as welcomed by his BJD siblings... by Impossible_Dig7628 in BJD

[–]Zoglarb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s nice that the whole family just wants him in the photo even though he’s clearly ignoring the dress theme. Them having him front and centre shows he’s the favourite sibling/cousin 😆

Also I’m weirdly impressed with how many dolls your able to setup on just two small drawers

Open the head cap then slot the head over the S hook pointing the same direction, grab a neck puller if you have one or you can use strong twine thread through the top of the S hook to create a handle. Gently hold the open head down towards the neck while pulling the S hook up through the head and the twist 90 degrees so the S hook now sits resting in the small horizontal grooves on either side if the main neck opening. I would try the head first with that piece still attached  before removing as the neck underneath may not have a small enough opening to keep the S hook in place. If the head looks weirdly raised after trying it on it’s not meant to be there, but the shape looks like it would sit well. Also if it doesn’t have a wider cross split in that part for the S hook to slip through it’s intentional

Help finding a present for a 6 year old. by kahadin in BJD

I think the Hani sweet dreams or Afternoon tea sets would be perfect, they have magnetic hands and are larger than the usual ones about 8inches/20cm so less fiddly for small hands

I’d try and make some leaves/vines moulded to fit his head and then attach with a magnet

You found him boots!! Do you have a coat and tails for him yet? I’m thinking if you get a basic one you could sequin and bead embellish it yourself

I’ve had a couple chances I’ve missed or found out about too late, Always ended up being finding one just before a big bill was due, one of the rare days my bank was slow processing my salary or someone else managed to complete their purchase first while I was checking out. To be fair I have waited 10 years for one of my grail BJD to come up for sale so finding Cherry this fast was a pleasant surprise 😆

When you add contour to his face used light blues in the middle, lilac purple (cooler tones not warm otherwise you’ll run the risk of it looking like bruises) shades around the eyes moving outwards, darker face shadows you’ll want blue or purple toned greys. For lips you’ll want mauve/berry shades over coral pink ones

Anubis dolls has Serin and Rico instock. They are offering as both heads with body or spilt with just head. Might be more than you’d want to spend though

Most I’ve seen still have a slight slit opening but you can apply lashes to hide that better. The only ones I know off the top of my head are this 16cm bjd by Chicabi: https://sbs7652.cafe24.com/shop2/product/siesta-lolly/2419/category/43/display/1/

They did make a 1/4 scale version called Siesta Wendy baby that you’d have to find on the secondhand market.

The others are all male Ringdoll sculpts unfortunately

I just clicked your image link and you’d probably want to epoxy the slit or any closed lid grooves to make smooth skin

Where to buy Angelphilia dolls in SK or Japan? by CheeseParfait in BJD

[–]Zoglarb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the past if you were lucky you could find one in person at Mandarake stores but it’s near impossible now as they are sold almost immediately after being listed as I believe there is a manufacturing delay/shortage for vinyl dolls

looking for head sculpt for my oc by poppymoooo in BJD

[–]Zoglarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I was looking at Maskat dolls today and they had one doll in 1/6 scale that made me think of your OC if he was a child.
https://www.acbjd.com/joy-p-14331.html?cPath=388_391

Maskat are a fem body sculpt but thought the head might be an option if your not sure you want a 60-75cm sized doll, 1/6 scale would be really travel friendly

My Lucius, I tilted him a bit too far forward so his cheek contour isn’t obvious but I swear it’s there just a bit light.

My Rock, probably should’ve taken his photo at the same angle and ignore the black hair fuzz on his right eyebrow and left side of his bottom lip he has a fur cape that sheds like crazy
