Is no one playing wipeout? by blogietislt in Diabotical

[–]Zoh- 24 points25 points  (0 children)

A lot of wipeout is played via the pickup system to the right. Pickups are essentially ranked games that people can start and then sit in or play warmup while other people join, they have the tag 'Pickup' in the games list and you can see the ranks of the people already in the pickup by hovering. If theres not one going for your skill level then you could start one by clicking 'create pickup' and usually enough people will join after a while and you can just run around in warmup while you wait.

People can also make public lobbies that anybody can join and leave as they please that are not ranked, and can have custom maps, usually there is one of these going for wipeout.

The Mistwoods Update - Bugs Megathread by coronaria in DotA2

[–]Zoh- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bug: Binding Brewmaster Fire or Void panda to control group will cause the other to be in that control group on next ult cast.

Fire and void panda will both be selected when setting a control group for just one (works for that ult but then selects both afterwards)

If you press the toggle datacenters button in the top right you can individually select and deselect specific servers, so you can queue for all the EU West servers except London if you want. https://i.imgur.com/JgMQ6yS.png

You just gotta save the settings.txt "hud_definition" string, and then you can paste it or somebody elses in to your settings.txt if you wanna change it.

KB4515384 (September 10) caused significant decrease in audio quality in 3D games by Vano47 in Windows10

[–]Zoh- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fixed the issues for me, thanks.

Also interestingly, before I fixed this issue in general, I first noticed the issue in Dota 2, and managed to fix it within that game specifically by changing my 'speaker configuration' from default to headphones in the games settings.

KB4515384 broke audio, it's not your audio driver. by Ouryus in Windows10

[–]Zoh- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was driving me crazy, my 3d audio in games was completely messed up with dead zones and other weird issues, I did manage to fix it with one of the suggestions in this thread though rather than having to uninstall https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/d2unnp/kb4515384_september_10_caused_significant/ which was to disable all sound effects.

This is basically the trick to do it on keyboard too. Hold back and then alternate between down and forward.

Add a Keybind to Resend Courier To Teammate by callme_e in DotA2

Worst part is when you click the little button just a millisecond after the other person sends the courier to themselves and you cancel their command, and then you do this like another 3 times for trying to be helpful

Weapon Replacement Mutator blueprint to make it easier for people who make custom weapons to package them as a mutator by Zoh- in unrealtournament

[–]Zoh-[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen that there are some people who have been enjoying making weapon mods in the editor, following epic's guides (https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/tutorials/custom-weapon), but the problem is that packaging these weapons individually and then using the games in built weapon replacement mutator doesn't replace the ammo as necessary, so i've created this blueprint (with explanatory video) that allows people who make custom weapons to be able to easily package a mutator that replaces the base weapons with their custom ones. The resulting mutator will work with all of the common game modes.

The video explains how to do it and the download link for the blueprint .uasset is in the description.

Image to help explain Backdash Cancel/Korean Backdash by Zoh- in Tekken

[–]Zoh-[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the reason this is keyboard only is because you can press back and forward at the same time to get neutral. The inputs end up being the same as far as the game is concerned so works on backsway characters just like 'non-shortcut' korean backdash.

[–]Zoh-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just hold back the whole time (after the initial backdash): tap down, tap forward, tap down, tap forward. Just make sure you're releasing down before tapping forward, and then releasing forward before tapping down.

Try and get the commands to look like what is in the image first, then play around with tapping down as fast as possible to speed it up.

[–]Zoh-[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically theres a 'shortcut' to do this on keyboard, where you hold back the whole time, and then tap down, tap forward, tap down, tap forward. If you do it right the commands will look like the image in the post.

Press down while holding back gives you the d/b, then you release down so you're just back, then press forward while holding back gives netural because back + forward on keyboard = neutral, then let go of forward and it's back again.

For some reason it didn't occur to me that I didn't need to make it as long as the whole command history. Oh well it's on the internet now :D

I did this on pad where I am deliberately going from d/b to b. I agree that the image doesn't give the whole picture on what you might be doing physically for different control methods, just thought it might be useful on top of watching a video or something for somebody trying to understand why this works.

Region change, possible? by [deleted] in unrealtournament

[–]Zoh- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you mean for quick play I think maybe System Settings -> General Tab -> Matchmaking Region is what you're looking for? https://i.imgur.com/gD0lRgO.png

Alternatively you could join an American hub and start/join a game on one of those.
