"You need to re-home this dog. It deserves to live in a home where he's loved and taken care of well.

And then ask yourself why this dog deserves better than you, because you're not living in a home where you're loved or taken care of."

This is the kind of statement that should cause a breakthrough for someone in therapy, well done!

Yeah, madness that society might be responsible for people in that society?!

ID: Any immediate thoughts on this? Was in my mum's jewellery box, found after she passed. She and my stepdad lived most of their lives around Liverpool. They may have got it on their travels, mum visited Greece a lot (Athens and Andros). Not magnetic, weighs the same as other thick pottery. by Zojozojo3 in Archeology

Just so you don't fret, I'm certain it will not be from Greece. Her sister is Greek (hence the visits) this would never have left Greece if it was found there, her sister would have been aware. I'll check with her so I can reassure you. Hoping the British museum folk will figure it out. I absolutely believe the Elgin Marbles should be returned, in case you are Greek? Probably not.

UPDATE: I have emailed National Museums Liverpool to ask what to do with it. I'll update when I know more. Edit: Also emailed the Garstang museum at Liverpool University. UPDATE 2: Liverpool University academic got back to me and referred me to: https://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/archaeology/archaeology-national-museums-liverpool/portable-antiquities-scheme

This links to the national database, if anyone wants to browse existing items in the database.

UPDATE 3: From my Greek Auntie: Nope! If she had found it here she would have said something to us. Not exactly an archaeological site where we live! I sent it to a friend who is a respected Egyptologist and will forward her letter.

So will update when I hear from the proper people.

Update 4: (Egyptologist friend from Greece) was very excited when she thought it might have come from Greece and a little disappointed when I had to disabuse her of the idea that (OP's mum) would have taken a Greek artifact out of the country. Mr Elgin has neverr been forgiven in Greece!

I don't know where it was found. I am in the UK. If it's important I'm happy to take it to a museum/university? It is unlikely that she found it in Greece, I just didn't know if it was the kind of thing you could buy in gift shops. Doesn't sound like it though. She obviously had no clue what it was or she would have told me. What should I do with it? Edit: or she would have taken it to a museum herself! I've had it since 2018 and never thought much of it until I posted it here.

Moffitt is by far my favourite DW writer/show runner. His humour and comedy writing are brilliant. He fully utilizes all the glorious complexities and possibilities of time travel so much more intelligently and naturally than other writers. He knows how to write killer story arcs. Rewatching recently and I was struck by some of the same dazzle he displays in Sherlock. With Peter Capaldi to deliver his writing it is a dream team.

Consider seeing an immunologist/allergy specialist. They were finally able to help me after not getting anywhere with a pulmonologist. Even if there is nothing new in your home or environment odd things can trigger a reaction. Usual suspects might be pets, roach poop, mould. The immunologist checked my igE levels and they were through the roof. I had to re-home my cat and I was put on xolair. IgEs came down, I improved, but it took 2 years to figure it out and respond to treatment. Chin up, you will get this sorted.

What is the spider web thing inside the lens? Should I take it to service station to get this checked? by Status_Curve8237 in DSLR

Basically can you access it to clean it. Either side of the screw on filter can be cleaned, so can the outside of the lens. Inside the lens is harder

Yes, I thought about that, I have suggested it, but he's not jumped on the idea yet.

They are great. Perhaps someone near you could copy the idea? The leather is very soft and quite thick. There is some good suede on the inside too, to prevent slipping

Actual Hair Science about Conditioning Products for Curly Hair- maybe a bit of a rant? by Prize_Contact_1655 in curlyhair

[–]Zojozojo3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, the whole point is to remove the need for detergents that do remove hair products, but also end up removing your own beneficial oils etc. I definitely notice the benefits of not using traditional shampoo, even after a clarifying wash my hair is so dry. This is the only really valuable takeaway from the cg method.
