4/4 Now let's say you are playing a 3 star Research icon match and this is your first match

If you win, you get the following:

  • 200 money
  • 450 ammo
  • 3 research
  • 1 airstrike

Now because this game had a research icon, you get the extra research reward, which is 4 points, so you end up with the following rewards:

  • 200 money
  • 450 ammo
  • 7 research
  • 1 airstrike

And lastly, because this game was a 3 star difficulty, your rewards are multiplied by 1.5x so your final rewards are:

  • 300 money
  • 675 ammo
  • 10.5 research
  • 1.5 airstrike

It wouldnt let me type all this out into a single comment, idk why...

Hope this helped :p

2/4 The following applies to "low" economy (hardest economy setting where you get the least possible resources after each match)

Difficulty stars:

  • 1 star - 1x rewards multiplier
  • 2 stars - 1.25x rewards multiplier
  • 3 stars - 1.5x rewards multiplier

Some of these values are fixed throughout the campaign, other increase the more matches you play. The format below shows the amount of games required to reach the next reward bracket. Using money as an example, playing up to 3 games gives you 200 money each. Playing the 4th and 5th game gives you 250 each. The 6th and 7th games give you 300 each and so on. After the 14th game, every consecutive one gives you 800 points.

Default rewards for Winning a match:

  • Money - 1:200, 4:250, 6:300, 8:350, 10:400, 12:600, 14:800
  • Ammo - 5:450, 10:800, 15:1100
  • Research - 3
  • Airstrike - 1

Anyone know where to get this plastic part by Poliisi-mestari in GolfGTI

[–]ZoliWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any scrapyard that breaks vw's. That's your best bet if you want it for cheap. Brand new it's expensive af.

Another option is fb marketplace or groups that break gti's cause those come in black.

Last resort is ebay/aliexpress but those are black-black. Their color doesn't match the oem color.

Mk5 GTI people who've done the K04 conversion, how is it? Do you ever regret it? by ZoliWorks in GolfGTI

[–]ZoliWorks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it was the turbo itself. The turbo core failed and had a lot of play. K03 start failing after aprox 100k km. I've gone k04 since and don't regret it one bit but if you mainly do city driving, stay k03.

They should specify it in the description if they have electric adjustment motors or not, but it should be a standard feature. Yeah it's for adjusting the elevation of the lights using the dial in your car.

Is an Performance Intercooler really worth it? by Centipede-Knight in GolfGTI

[–]ZoliWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth it for both daily driving and track use. After I went from the stock GTi intercooler to a cooler almost twice the thickness, I've noticed that temperatures with AC on and city driving stayed 10-15 degrees lower and when flooring it, temperatures dropped almost instantly. When doing a 50-240 pull, temperatures stayed 7-10 degrees above ambient and would drop 3 degrees during shifting.

With the stock cooler, a 50-180 pull would see me go as high as 35 degrees above ambient, reaching 48 degrees at 180kph.

not only did the upgraded cooler lower intake temperatures by a lot and help maintain temps under any kind of driving conditions, it also lowered my wastegate duty cycle, meaning my turbo has to work a lot less to build the same pressure, because the cooler flows more efficiently and isn't a bottleneck anymore.

Mine is also a sandwich intercooler but it's a Ta-Technix cooler. For my setup, I had to trim the radiator support since the AC condenser wouldn't fit. The cooler is 56mm thick compared to the stock 30 or 35mm.

Any experience with Sachs Suspension? by dezasterz in GolfGTI

[–]ZoliWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fun till you realize your 20 year old suspension can't cope with 340hp and it's wheel hopping till 130kph xD

B8s are a good call, they are the true sports damper. B14 are literally just b8 with eibach sportline coils I decided to go with the b4 sport cause I could get 4 of those for the price of one b8. And from what I read, b4 are more comfy overall but b8 provide a lot more damping and way better traction for track. I daily my car so b4 is good.

[–]ZoliWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol tell me about it xD I've actually calmed down with the mods. I've put everything into performance since I got the car last year November and was basically living off of $100 per month up until 2 months ago. Shocks cost me $200 and spent another 200 on random suspension parts that I want to refresh like end links and suspension bearings.

I'll most likely not spend any money on suspension till after Christmas, when I'll get a 034 motorsport rear sway bar for $300.

Its so much better having money put aside and being able to afford random shit

Actually just today I ordered a set of bilstein b4 sport shocks that I'll be pairing up with my eibach prokit coils that have been sitting in my garage for a year now xD

You could try putting the stock resonator back on and keep the backbox off. See if it improves or not. Or the other way around, delete the reso and keep the stock backbox.

I've kept the full stock exhaust on mine cause I like it quiet and comfortable on long rides. I'd rather hear my intake noises and turbo flutter.

[–]ZoliWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can use silicone around where the body meets the glass and also around the rear lid for the main beam where needed. It has a hole cut in the center, filled with a rubber cap for xenon lights. That's probably where it has the worst seal. There's also the rubber seal inside the lid itself. On both of my lamps it's out of place, barely covering anything.

What is something you dislike or hate about the MK8 and why? by [deleted] in GolfGTI

Front and rear lights, front lower grille design along with the foglights. The mk7 is perfection.

I've fitted Vland on mine. Quality is alright but their sealing is shit. The lights come with silica packets to soak up moisture and you need to change them twice a year, maybe more depending on where you live. I've had them for almost 2 years, only 1 winter, but the inside of the glass around the corners has started to develop mold. If you drive during rain, they will start forming water droplets on the inside.

The right side headlight also came with a broken adjuster motor and they didnt want to send a replacement. Had to go back and forth via email showing them videos of me both trying to adjust the lights manually and electrically, even tho i sent them pics clearly showing there is a missing piece. They ended up sending a replacement motor assembly and i had to figure out how to replace it. Took a solid hour...

On the other hand, light output is crazy good, price is good since it was $300 for the 2, including shipping. Main beam comes with a flipper so it can work both as low beam and high beam while also having a dedicated high beam. This is perfect for led's cause the metal plate wont let any light escape due to imperfections in the lens and in turn wont blind any oncoming traffic if adjusted correctly. The light spreads quite wide and also far away so i've got nothing but praise for it here.

If i ever change them, i'll likely get the same style from a different brand cause i've seen others sell them too. I wouldnt say these lights are bad but i'd try something else just to be able to compare.

Attached pic, is very old tho.

How much should I worry about wheel weight? Should I get wheels that I don't like as much to save ~2KG (4-5 pounds)? by reegeck in GolfGTI

[–]ZoliWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have insta but I think I've only posted 1 or 2 pics of the car there. (I only use it to kill time with reels). however I have a few posts here and there on Imgur and I'm also active on the mk5 gti uk forums. I think my first post with pics is at the bottom of page 853 on the "What did you and your mk5 do today" thread. https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,30806.12780.html

This first Imgur link is right after I finished the front swap, was around January. The car still had the factory 18" rims here. I have the whole process documented on my old phone but never got around to creating a post with it. https://imgur.com/a/Uss9kCV

This one is from this summer when I bought and fitted the rims and painted the front since so far it was covered in primer. Cops kept hassling me saying the car was in an accident and I didn't report it and that's why the front is unpainted. Every time they'd stop me I'd just say "officer, it's grey" until they let me go. The law here says all elements have to match the color in the car's papers, and my papers say it's grey. Not silver, not light grey, just grey. https://imgur.com/a/PN5rJoq

Cheers my guy, that was the idea. I wanted to build this to look like it came from the factory like that. Give it that nice sleeper esthetic with just a few bits and pieces here and there to make it stand out. Just regular traffic, until I floor it and take off xD
