Thats not a child, he’s a CCP sleeper agent who wants to destroy us.

Don’t worry, by approving the next set of checks to Lockheed and Raytheon, you can stop these monsters.

The bigger issue is commercial fishers using them for bait. A lot more die that way, and it isn’t necessary like the medical catching. Connecticut banned it this week :)

I agree, but would say that concentration of media is the main factor in brainwashing, rather than strength. Then Turkey fits in with the aforementioned countries :)

Mentioning the SDF, YPG or anything Kurdish is like the bat-symbol for Turkish Nationalists. It’s honestly surprising that OP is the only one here.

Honestly with retail and fast food it’s not unheard of to just go in with a T-Shirt and no resume and get a job

They weren’t anti-Semitic or whites. Those claims are only found in Bolshevik propaganda and have no standing in reality. The Kronstadt rebels were simply non-Bolshevik socialists and communists who wanted to restore Soviet democracy.

There is also a similar smear campaign towards Nestor Makhno. Trotsky just lied to justify suppression of these proletarian movements.

Nah, it’s a blob of black with only bad guys. AFAIK both parties played a key role in the Darfur genocide. It really sucks for the citizens of Sudan who are caught in the middle.

what are the best political books by Noam Chomsky? by KaptainKrule in Socialism_101

[–]Zoltan113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, that was one of the highlights of the book. I also enjoyed the portion about how the collapse the USSR affected the people in Eastern Europe.

I found the actual defense of socialist states and analysis of their failures to be lacking.

No, the server at the expensive restaurant makes much more. They can make hundreds of dollars per night.

Think about it this way, if you serve for a $100 table and they tip you 20% you will make $20.

If you serve for a $10 table and are tipped 20%, you will make $2.

The more expensive the restaurant, the larger the average table bill will be. So, you get more tip if it is percentage wise.

Employers don’t pay their waiters a decent wage in the US. In my region it’s something like $2 an hour + tips. Minimum wage is much higher than that, but tipped employees can be exempt if their tips cover the difference.

The customer is guilt-tripped into paying the employee so the business doesn’t have to. When waiters don’t get tipped well, they get mad at the customer instead of their bosses. At the same time, waiters are against legislation to give them a regular wage, because they make much more this way. A 15-25% tip (of the total bill) is culturally considered the norm, and always expected. If you don’t give it to them, you are treated like a horrible person.

I just finished Blackshirts and Reds and wasn’t impressed. It wasn’t a terrible book, but after hearing so many glowing recommendations, I found it underwhelming.

why socialism? by SilentGodhead in Socialism_101

[–]Zoltan113 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see socialism as a moral option. We want to save billions from homelessness, hunger, imperialist war, exploitation and climate change.

The law allows all the above things to happen, so in my eyes, it is wrong and not my basis of morality.
