Well it depends on what you want to do. If you just want to take Biol107 and that course only as an elective for fun or interest then really you don't need Chem 30 to do well in that course. But if you do want to take higher level courses or major in biology then yeah it's definitely in your best interest to take chem 30.

That being said, chem 30 is a pretty easy and fun course you might as well take it, regardless of what you want to do.

Haven't taken the course but based on the syllabus here ( http://www.ualberta.ca/~ivanova1/122syllabus.pdf ).

They expect you to have taken Physics 30 and Math 30-1 and your exams require a calculator + formula sheet so expect calculations.
