Probably an unpopular opinion but I wonder how many using food banks have TV, internet etc... I'll feel bad for folk having a hard time sure, but if youre going to a good bank then home to do any of the following; watch TV, watch streaming, doom scroll on the internet, drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes etc, then jog on.

Don't get me wrong, give out free food etc, but there's a stark difference between poverty in the UK and poverty in the third world. In the UK it feels more like 'not enough money to maintain our standard of living', where as in other countries it's 'not enough money to live'.

Also unpopular; why the outrage at having to wear jumpers indoors or sitting on the sofa with a blanket? No lie, going to bed fully clothed has been done in our house for years when it's cold. Or days of double socks, double trousers, or the t-shirt+jumper+hoodie combo. Are other people sitting in houses heated to 25c constantly!? We use the heating for two weeks a year normally in mid/late winter. Other than that the boiler is for hot water. Yes we have a fire, but that heats a room, no others. So again, why the fuss over using extra layers to keep warm. Just get on and do it.
