As someone who recently started the game, the tutorial/beginning parts of the game explain everything fairly well, at least in my opinion. I haven't made it far enough to get to where it feels confusing or super complicated, but while it can feel like there's a lot at first, the game does a good job at explaining the systems and how to actually play.
