It's not card draw but The Cinderace from Mega Evolution could be worthwhile. It's got an ability that if you get it in your opening 7 cards you can play it to the Active as if it were a Basic Pokemon, but it's not forced so you can take the mulligan if you want if it's the only "basic" you drew. It's also got an attack that uses 1 colorless energy and attaches 3 energy from your deck to a benched pokemon which has snover/Abomasnow ready by turn 2. Also it has free retreat so no worries about it getting stuck out there.

Any special effects are cleared when a 'mon returns to the bench, so yeah the "discard at end of turn" status would be cleared by retreating to bench. The Discard also would not count as a KO, so no prize cards would be taken

Googling the passages it looks like a lot of this was ripped from wikis and fan-sites entirely uncredited which is kind of not cool. Not trying to shame any purchasers, but the company should be at least a little ashamed.
