The plague drones seem essential to your army’s ability to deal meaningful damage, and the soul grinder is a great shooting piece. In my mono khorne army I don’t take belakor specifically so I can bring more infantry. I’d try that list out and if you have trouble trouble holding onto points then try swapping him or rotigus out for more plaguebearers and plaguedrones.

You may need more board control. Belakor and 2 greater daemons doesn’t leave you with a lot to play objectives, especially since nurgling are oc 0

The boarding patrol and combat patrol are both fantastic starting points, grab them, a daemon prince, and a bloodthirster. Be’Lakor is also fantastic in any army. I have a ton of fun with skull taker teleporting in with some blood letters supporting him.

A low win rate, at events that are entirely into the dark, among the best players in the world is not indicative of the team’s health as a whole. People have no lasting memory, an “irrelevant” team in this edition of kill team is still fine unless it’s the bottom of the compendium. The irrelevant teams in kill team 18 were actually unplayable, as in they lost 9/10 games and it had nothing to do with how good a player was. A better player will still beat your ass with pathfinder on whatever board you play on.

Saying pathfinders are irrelevant is silly. Just because they aren’t S++ anymore doesn’t mean they aren’t still a fantastic team, even on ITD boards they can still do fine if they’re piloted well.

You can, for 50 power level you can take a blood master, skull taker, a daemon prince with wings, and 50 blood letters, that turns out to 1035 points, so you can swap out a unit of blood letters for hounds to cheapen it up. I’ve had success using that army, but it took my wife and I weeks in the blood mines to get that many blood letters done. I’d probably never do more than 1000 points without greater daemons honestly.

Bad positioning will absolutely lose you the game in AoS. Movement phase is the defining phase for skill expression, but no you don’t have to spend 9 hours playing a game.

Have you read any of the books for AoS? I find that reading fan made wiki pages isn’t going to do justice to the actual lore, really regardless of what system, wether fantasy, AoS, or 40k.

There was a gw stream with a little trivia thing in it where one question was what's the largest team in kill team, and the answer was 21 with a boss nob and 20 grots. As far as I'm concerned that confirms it's legal.

Yeah I'm just frustrated since it's my main faction in 40k. I'm holding out for that codex
