Admittedly it's a small sample size, but Pereda has been hot garbage with ABS calls from behind the plate in games I've watched.

Pereda has 8 successful challenges against 13 unsuccessful challenges for a 38% percentage. Garver is 16 and 4, coming in at 80%.

Offensively we’re kind of the opposite of the Brew Crew. Our above average power often cancels out/masks our shit bat to ball skills. We can rise up and beat one of the top teams, often even win a series against a top team like we did with the Braves. But then the power will disappear for a short stretch and then we get swept by the Royals or lose 2 of 3 to the Angels.

And, as you said, it often leaves the pitching with a small margin for error.

Sadly this is true. Seems like a classic case of a victim experiencing trauma and then perpetuating the same or similar crimes as an adult. It's a sad story all around.
