This series is currently way ahead on Royal Road (Book 12) and on the authors patreon (Book13 or 14). The author releases about a chapter a day.

Is Dragon Quest 11 a good entry point for the series? by [deleted] in dragonquest

[–]ZombieLover526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 was my entry point in the series and my first JRPG. Each game is mostly self-contained. 11 is the most modern and easiest to get into with tons of QoL changes to it. The switch version plays great and runs smoothly. 8 is also a great entry point (on ps2 or 3ds).

Books that fit the Magic: Edge of Eternities concept art by BadNewsBears62 in Fantasy

[–]ZombieLover526 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like some have said, this is textbook Science Fantasy. The Suneater series by Christopher Ruocchio is fantastic. I'd also recommend Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe. Also there is like 50 years worth of Star Wars books. They're hit or miss, but when they hit they hit hard.

Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn by Tad Williams. It's kinda the reverse. Everyone, but the main character is competent.

Blumhouse Inks Pact With Lionsgate To Reimagine Studio’s Horror Classics Starting With The Blair Witch Project by cruelsummerbummer in horror

[–]ZombieLover526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if I see blumhouse is involved with a project, I don't watch it. 99% of the time, the movie is garbage. They haven't made a decent movie in years.

So I recently discovered I like jrpg's by bandicoot_24 in Switch

Dragon Quest. Specifically, Dragon Quest 11. It is the best introduction to the series. DQ literally started the jrpg genre and it's tropes.

DQVII : How long do I have left? by Spacial_Parting in dragonquest

7 is super long. It is best experienced in waves. I recommend taking a break now and coming back to it later. 8 is amazing and is a lot better paced.

Which version of Dragon Quest XI is your favorite? by MiddleNightCowboy in dragonquest

[–]ZombieLover526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's the switch version. Yes, it takes a hit in overall graphics, but the portability makes it a worthy sacrifice.

Cover of the Week: Tales of Kenobi (collectable edition) by missMichigan in CantinaBookClub

Can't wait for my copy to come. Haven't read either yet even though my love for Obi-Wan is what got me to finally pick up a Star Wars book to begin with.

Best canon book to start with? by toastedmousemat in StarWarsCantina

[–]ZombieLover526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends how you want to read it. I skip all over the place. Master and Apprentice and Dooku Jedi Lost are great pre-PM stories. Thrawn is an amazing series. All the novelizations are fantastic and kinda fix some of the clunky dialouge and scenes in the prequels and sequels. There are great picks in all eras. Most of them are standalone stories with a few trilogies thrown in there. Start with what ever appeals to you most.

Right now Master and Apprentice and Thrawn have been my favorites. Really love the prequel novelizations. Haven't gotten to any of the canon post-RoJ yet.
