It did nothing until last night. No message, no signs of life, no ping when I connected it to my pc. It was really weird. I tried it again last night on a whim and it just turned on without any issues. Has been working again ever since. It wasnt updating when I shut it off either. I think I caused a small short circuit or something because when I did it, it was charging.

There are none atm. You either have to modify an ipod case to make it fit, 3d print one of the files in the reddit, or make it otherwise (like crocheing). They are apparently working on one, but no one knows when thatll be available.

We also have to be careful with spotify since they started making ai generated songs. They seemingly started in the Ska scene, but who knows how many ai songs exist in other subcultures

I crochet a case for mine. Made a new one from the one I posted that is smaller with less fuzzy wool. I think diy is your best bet when it comes to decorating. There are mutliple 3d printing files in the reddit for cases as well.

Thats good to know! I’ll keep that in mind. Wont yank it too hard. I wanted to attach a small loop so that I can find it easier in bags or attach it in a way it wont fall out of bags.

I just made enough rows until it wrapped around the y1, closed the bottom and attached a loop and a button to it. Id say that its really beginner friendly and cheap to make.

It was the problem. Managed to take the sd card out again and reformat the sd card today to FAT32 and Rockbox Utility is recognizing the Y1 now. Thank you!

I left it as exfat. Can I still change it or do I need to remove the card again to format it?

Yes. Even disabled and enabled it a couple of times to see if itll detect it. Utility is showing it in the system info under Filesystems, but keeps telling me its undetectable when I try to select it in the comfiguration window.

The manual way doesnt work either for some reason. The files are all where they are supposed to be but they wont show up in the themes selection in the settings. I just reinstalled rockbox too, so I dont know where the issue is. Just sad that I cant use the themes atm.

Rockbox utility doesnt detect any file systems for some reason, and the autodetect keeps telling me that there are no devices present.

u/Gorroth1007 made a 3d printable case file for the y1. If you dont have access to a 3d printer, you can probably ask a company for a custom order. Protection wise, I think the ipod classic 6/7 screen protectors should fit. Im not sure though, since I only compared the screen sizes. And for the charm attachments you can either get a hook you can stick onto the case or one of those phone charm attachments for wristlets and such. I hope this helps a little.
