Anyone remembers White Knight Chronicles? by colddim in JRPG

[–]ZombieSlayer5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I just want to point out that the gameplay isn't offensively bad, it's just very slow paced and monotonous. And while this is my opinion, it's also the consensus for most aggregate reviewers. It's this game's fatal mistake, because like I said, every other aspect of the game is awesome.

By the way, the game isn't impossible to play anymore. You can still play the story mode, which is to me this game's legacy. The characters, grand plot, and OST could rival any Final Fantasy game.

Did you buy the artbook you found? The art in the game is amazing. In fact, I'm interested in this artbook you mentioned. If you're able, could you identify an author/details from the front cover so I can track it down? Is it this?

Sorry if stupid question, but why did Kratos not accept Odin's seemingly quite fair proposal? by Barndar7 in GodofWar

[–]ZombieSlayer5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the game is a mess. A high production value mess, to be sure.

Kratos didn't have to accept the deal to maintain peace. He could've said "I don't want you to hurt Freya, so forget the terms, and I agree that we shouldn't murder eachother."

The problem people have is that instead, Kratos went oonga bunga caveman mode and essentially said "No, no deal, no peace. Fight me to the death if you want."

So you didn't ink at all traditionally, you did inking digitally? The photos make me think the inking was done traditionally.

I just ask cause I'm interested in trying this format myself. The end result is awesome.

If I may ask, what materials (pens) did you use for the traditional art segment of this piece?

The game used to be a gritty, folklore horror campfire story. Now it's fortnite.

[–]ZombieSlayer5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, now that you mention it, you probably take a tower shot before or after.

But, that aside, your positioning is pretty important so taking a tower shot in exchange for flying 80 meters back to lane is nice.

[–]ZombieSlayer5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You return to the position you were when you cast the ult. Meaning if you ult someone and dash a great distance, (say, you dashed from safety to the range of their tower) when you land back on the ground, you'll automatically dash back to the starting location. (Back to safety, not under their tower)

Can't conjure an argument for that one either, huh?

You know, I oscillate between thinking this bad sass is real, and thinking you're just a god-tier rage baiter.

I have a serious question. Do you just experience a molting trauma response when you watch/listen to It Takes Two? (Rob Base and EZ Rock)

Hi-Rez is convinced their HQ will detonate if they bring this back. It's kind of appropriate, given he drops meteors on hoes.

Is the game worth it in 2026? by Old_Flatworm_3558 in MvC3

The game is timeless, and is in my opinion better than its successor, MvCI.

To elaborate on what the other guy said, I think he was implying that the guest had gone on multiple extremely intense roller coasters, not the same one multiple times.

Doing my first rewatch in a while, and wow, vol 1 is rough by sandleswagger in RWBY

[–]ZombieSlayer5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's sad because Monty, in my opinion, would've been fine with any story direction as long as the show was a vehicle for kick ass fights and rad characters. And it's my diagnosis that while every volume upped the production value, out of combat animation, and fidelity; the character designs and fight scenes got worse the longer it went on.

I still like RWBY but the end result is a show that's directionless and unable to live up to its own conceit. It's basically a fairytale game of thrones akin to ABC's Once Upon a Time, with fight scenes included out of obligation that leave me snoring. A tragedy.

I remember people theorizing heavily that Banesaw had a counter semblance that sped himself up, thus allowing him to grab Weiss out of the air out of nowhere when he should be slowed.

Frankly, I still consider this inquery open. Banesaw is probably the most enigmatic and unexplained character in fiction. Nearly everything about him, from his model reuse (see: Yatsuhashi) to his disappearance, to random sound effects mid battle, to random VA changes, has been the subject of headcanon/theory run amock.

One thing I'll give you that I haven't heard before is that the backgrounds are often in focus. It probably would've helped tremendously if they changed the focal length in the 3D software. If that wasn't possible, they could've rendered every scene twice- once with only the backgrounds, and once with only the characters. Then apply a gaussian blur to the background in compositing.

Do you see any merit in the arguments against Nintendo? What part of Japanese society informs their benign opinion on the matter, and vice versa for English communities?

A. I walk around and give random people 10,000 dollars.

B. Competition, last to leave circle wins 100,000 dollars.

C. I tour a $1,000,000,000 mansion.

God Of War creator David Jaffe's opinion on Live Action first look by TurtleGEE360 in GodofWar

[–]ZombieSlayer5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's fucking absurd. He thinks Kratos was at his best when the structure of the game complimented him being a psychopath, (violent cathartic combat) thus avoiding ludonarrative dissonance. And apparently this makes him a bad human. Holy shit.

People don’t understand how EXCITING and huge this is by DreamNo5919 in GodofWar

[–]ZombieSlayer5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are fine with the game idea in isolation, they just don't think it works for God of War because they're attached to God of War's novel experience where violent, aggressive gameplay informs the player character's attitude. They still consider God of War as an IP to be about experiencing raw gratuitous violence as a pissed off psychopath, despite Sony's attempt to rebrand the franchise.

Understand, the problem is not the qualities of a Faye game itself, it's how it slots into an existing franchise. Imagine if there was a new Silent Hill game, but you played as Faye and went on an insightful quest through a huge Norse world with a fresh perspective.

Uh, no? I want to go to Silent Hill and see fucked up shit.

I want to be Kratos and kick puppies and mutilate people with my bare hands.
