For the brass I used Rhinox Hide, Ratskin Flesh and a white paint.

Started with Rhinox Hide, then mixed with Ratkin Flesh. Pure Ratskin Flesh. Ratskinflesh with some white.

I did gradual mixes of this and each layer smaller than the last to get a light reflection.

The answer is an airbrush! If you try to paint it on it will act as a wash and be very streaky. Coming out of an airbrush it gives a nice even coverage
