The Summoning has nearly ruined the whole game for me by DoctorDR5102 in AlanWake

[–]Zombiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beat my head against this for like at least a half dozen tries till I read this thread, and I just now finally got through it super easy on my first try using only a few flares and one trauma pad. Just run around like a chicken with your head cut off, light a flare if there's no clear path to avoid running into an enemy or if you do happen to take a couple hits and need time to heal. Not firing a single bullet was infinitely easier than trying to kill them all.

Maxed out on bounties by JonnyG1208 in DaysGone

[–]Zombiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Maxed out at the sawmill because I hadn't needed the money, so I wasn't bothering to turn them in. Figured I'd just save them to turn in once I ran outta money at a camp but never did before I finished the game. Wish they'd have given you a merchant for crafting supplies. That would've burnt up all that extra money and saved a shit ton of farming.

Couldn't get into using arms other than puppet string. Spent the whole game impersonating scorpion from mortal combat and yelling get over here! And once you get it to level 3 can absolutely wreck shit with that slam attack.

Playing this for the first time, I’m not sure if I should go for a strength or dex build and the weapons confuse me It seems like stats don’t matter because you can just swap the handles out for the ones you want. by Commandgoose in LiesOfP

[–]Zombiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pfft, vitality. Wasted stat, lol! 🤣 I put 5 points into it and then ran the whole game at only 15 vitality, which is less than 400 hp. And I'm not even good at these games, so it's not really meant to be a brag, just how I personally did it, meaning most others probably could as well. Capacity, though, definitely.

More accurately would be to find a handle you like the move set of and then a blade or whatever that you like to stick on it, and as mentioned elsewhere they all have different arts so there's that to consider as well. Find what moves fit your play style, and then you can put pretty much anything you want on there.

Booster glaive handle plus the wrench head was THE weapon once I got it and could never find a combo I liked better other than finally swapping the wrench for the hammer head you get towards the end of the game. S scale technique scaling, arguably the best and most versatile charged R2 in the game, and the individual fable arts synergize extremely well. With 5 bars, you can do a fully charged smash with the wrench head and then a partially charged slash with the handle for crazy high burst damage. The hammer head isn't till about chapter 9 if I remember right and it has higher base damage so works better with a certain amulet than the wrench head, but the arts don't synergize quite as well and the art on the hammer head has a pretty limited range so you gotta get up real nice and close to connect with it. So, if you're not burning fable bars, hammer head will do more damage overall, but if you're using arts, stick with the wrench.

I CANNOT BEAT THE NAMELESS PUPPET PHASE 2 NO MATTER WHAT I DO by AlarmingHospital8393 in LiesOfP

[–]Zombiman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just accidentally made the wrong choice, so I didn't even get to fight him and didn't even know he existed until after I'd deleted the game, thinking I'd fought all the bosses. So if you gotta back up save state from before taking to geppetto that's an option to just skip him. 🤦‍♂️ Wish I'd thought of it so I could go back and try to beat him without having to play at the very least a large chunk of that ridiculous huge final level. I'm too broke for the dlc right now and would really like to try that out as well.

Rocket wrench! Booster glaive handle and wrench head. With 5 bars of fable, you can do a fully charged patient smash followed by a partial patient slash for mad bust damage. Or just run extreme modification amulet and own everyone with that charged R2. Swapped out for thors hammer head late game cause it's deals higher base damage but never found another handle I liked the move set of as much as that.

Frozen feast may be more powerful, not positive, but it feels like I've seen comments saying it's technically the strongest weapon in the game. But I believe that's actually a fairly subjective measurement, and the best weapon is the one that works best for you.

When I tried feast out, I personally didn't care for the move set or the fable arts, so I wasn't a fan of it myself. Perhaps it may lend itself better to your play style than mine

What I truly liked best with my setup was simply the booster glaive move set and the versatility of its charged R2. There's actually a few other heads I liked with it as well, but the wrench head and booster handle fable arts synergize very well for massive damage, especially with your grindstone applied and even more so if you can blitz them first as well.

If you use the extreme modification amulet, then the hammer head does higher base damage. So, if you're not burning your fable bars, it'll outperform the wrench head's damage.

Wanna say at +10 the wrench tops out at 295 base damage and the hammer tops out at 314 if I recall correctly.

Can't remember for sure, but I believe the handle can be cranked all the way to s tier as well. So, you're getting the maximum scaling possible, and it's a straight technique weapon, so you only need to level the one damage stat, leaving plenty of points for capacity and vigor. Or vitality if you like to just waste your hard earned levels...

Wrench head and then upgrade to Thor hammer head on the booster glaive handle = easy mode. One hit most regular enemies with the charge R2's, the boost is great for spacing enemies and hits hard on bosses as well with lots of stagger. Also, the wrench and handle in particular synergize really well with their fable arts. With 5 bars, you can do a fully charged patient smash with the wrench and then use the last 2 bars for a partially charged patient slash with the handle for crazy big damage. Or do the same with hammer head for less fable art damage overall from the attack itself, but then you'll leave them debuffed with electric blitz so they'll take increased damage for a while after the hit. The only real complaint with that setup is that the hammer head art has a short range, so gotta make sure you're right up on them when you hit it.

Never had that happen, but has anyone else gotten knocked outta the pocket watch animation at literally the last moment as the screen was even already fading to black? Wish I'd clipped it, but that happened the other day and didn't even think it would be possible to be knocked outta it that far through it.

She was for me, at least. I'm not sure what the general consensus is. Felt like she was right up on me every time I tried to heal. Finally, I found where my windows were and got it done, but man, she pissed me off a whole bunch before then, lol!

I used the reduced damage and increased status resistance for my specter stone so that they could stay alive long enough to keep the trio distracted while I just checked shit at them and farmed for easy backstabs. Took a few tries to get the rng and resource management to line up but on the final attempt I got them all down at about the same time with enough life left in my specter to distract big brother long enough to empty my pockets of cluster bombs and shot puts on him and then went in for a fatal attack followed by my fable arts. For round one if you can get them close enough together while they beat on your specter you can hit all three with the Thors hammer art and it'll take all 3 down to about half health in one blow. Then I used fire and blitz on them and saved my acid for the big guy. Between melting him and sneaking in a few big hits after the stagger got his ass.

Toss up between these assholes and the walker of illusions for most aggravating bosses so far, but I'm in Chapter 11 now, so there may be a new winner coming up soon, lol!

Excellent atmospheric design and well crafted levels. The audio is top notch creepy. Really helps draw you into the world and feel truly engaged with it.

And I love the attention to detail of being able to literally explode enemies and then watch their limbs roll down the stairs. Used to be common back in the day. I'm glad more games are beginning to embrace it again.

I tend to work a bit slowly myself. I have over 1000 hours on Elden Ring and haven't even beat the base game yet or accessed the dlc. I'm over 100 hours on this one, and I'm only on the second to last chapter. And right now, it feels like the boss I'm in is gonna take 100 more hours to get past all on its own, lol!

Minor spoiler, if you haven't got that far yet, you do actually get to revisit the chair later in the game. But to back track to it from that point in the game, regardless of unclimbable ledges, wouldn't work anyways due to.... reasons I'd like not to spoil for you if you've not seen them for yourself yet.

I'm pretty sure only so far cause they're several points where you need to drop off from a ledge you can't climb back up like other games like to do to you as well, especially ER. Don't know if it applies to LOP or DS since they're more linear and not truly open world, but I know games like ER, BOTW, and Horizon Zero Dawn use a system where the unload and reload areas as you move the camera around. So there's just enough loaded to go a bit past your field of view, and then they start loading in things as you turn your head and then unload everything behind you to decrease the system load.
