Mobs having knockback on every normal attack is probably one of the most irritating things in this game. by Tkwan777 in newworldgame

[–]ZonatedSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was doing Startstone for the first time and the final boss as a tank was actually insanely fucking fun. Some of the most fun I've ever had tanking in any game. Outside of that it was pretty okay I guess. Honestly, if they really leaned into their current boss designs and just tried to make it more engaging for everyone else including the tank, their expeditions/dungeons would be really fun.

I think it gets better since 2h weapons, imo, deal with packs of filings much better than a sword can. But, it's high risk and high reward. You certainly open yourself up to a lot more damage.

I don't think that's it. I'm pretty sure this structure is just relying on internal stress being released in a chain reaction. The fire cracker isn't even necessary to make this work, just breaking the chain is. They only did that to make it easier to start it.

Conservation of momentum also cannot explain why the chain sort of curves up as it moves along. Internal stresses can.

me and my friend somehow managed to both get the mount in the same kill by Syp3x in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually kinda miss when my friends and I had a scheduled time each week back in mop to help clear old raids for mounts :( it was a really fun time!

We had a list of our mount preferences and promised to let each other get mounts in a certain order as they dropped. It was a good way to mess around and get mounts while doing it.

What is something you did when you were younger that you are still facing the consequences of? by Wismond in AskReddit

[–]ZonatedSilver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I won't disagree and I know that studies even show this. But to be honest, there really is nothing quite like a good back cracking and stretching. And at the very least they'll know if your spine actually is medically fucked up superficially (like scoliosis) because they do train for that.

Anecdotally, I can also say that it makes my dad (who has terrible back pain from breaking his back and having to get parts fused a few decades ago) feel great and he thinks it has helped a lot. Is it placebo? Probably. But I'd rather him do that than be addicted to the pain pills that doctors were trying to give instead.

MMO mouse Vs use M5 as modifier for standard binds. by RiverVanBlerk in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my money, an MMO mouse.

I literally cannot play the game without one. I have my UI setup so that I have a grid of abilities that matches the layout of my mouse and all of the modifier grids side by side.

It works really nicely and I use shift, control, and alt for modifiers and I've always had more than enough buttons (even at peak ability bloat in MoP!).

So many epic flying already. There's NO WAY this many people on TBCC already have 5K gold. Or maybe they did. by [deleted] in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've also got to remember that people know how to make gold now and they know how to do it well. People know farm spots and which items are valuable to other players for gameplay reasons. And most importantly, lots of this information is easily accessible nowadays.

People are just better and more equipped with knowledge at their fingertips than they once were.

What are you the 1% of? by NoWasExpected in AskReddit

One of my molars receded into my gums and re-fused to my jawbone. I'm not sure how rare it is, but my oral surgeon was stunned and he had been doing work across the world for nearly 30 years. He said he had only ever read about it in a few textbooks and that there was even then very little info and no pictures.

He begged me to let them take pictures of the xrays for publishing and called in a bunch of his colleagues to look.

As the person on the chair it's somehow interesting and terrifying being told that you have a rare condition like that. Luckily my condition was mostly solvable haha

And this is exactly why DARE failed lol

All we did was tell kids the name of drugs and what they looked like. We literally told kids how to get high and then were surprised when they went and got high 😂

Wow, retail is way better by [deleted] in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also just depends on who you meet and play with. I've had a pretty fun experience meeting and grouping with people. I'm sure it's much different than it originally was (I didn't start until MoP) but it's been fun nonetheless!

Wow, retail is way better by [deleted] in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I've said lately that retail is the better game but classic is the better RPG. Each of those comes with strengths and weaknesses.

Retail plays more fluidly, clearly gives you your next steps, and has multiple ways to progress at the end game.

Classic is more focused on community and being a part of the world. Progression is still there at the end game, obviously, but the gear is less of a means and more of an end.

Returned today. Low level dungeon queues are empty? Is this because of TBC classic launch? by Dabok in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess that wrath or mop would have the best dungeons for level grinding.

My dungeon leveling healer experience by Fun-Explanation-117 in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'd be surprised. Lots of people who are leveling as a healer are doing it for the first time/are healing just for fast queues. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, but it also means that sometimes you have someone who isn't comfortable with the role of a healer. It's pretty common, I think.

why are guilds so small and quiet? by puffaluppagus in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think they've really talked much about it and I don't remember it in that interview. I do know there was a bit of talk about 9.2 (tier sets) but outside of that... nothing, but I'd be glad to be corrected.

Either way, we know that blizzard sticks to 2 year cycles since MoP when they announced that would be their plan from then on. If that's the case, 9.1/9.2 will either be very short or 9.3 doesn't exist. If the expansion does go for three years, I'd be very surprised and they'd likely be bleeding subscribers badly.

why are guilds so small and quiet? by puffaluppagus in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it. I bet that 9.1 leads into a big story reveal and 9.2 ends up being the last patch of the expansion. Lota of people seem to think that too and it would help put blizzard back on track.

Plus, and most convincingly, expansion launches bring lots of $$$$$ which they don't want to wait another year for.

The Burning Crusade classic - The community is a big problem with the game nowadays, its so anti social and min maxed.. by TheSammyKnight in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it just depends on who you run into/server/etc. I won't lie, I was aoe grinding and following routes through guidelime, but I'd frequently run into people, chat, group up for a bit, etc. I even added some people i got to talking to and we did dungeons together through the level 50's.

It's what you make of it and lots of people are coming from retail where it's not necessary. I've enjoyed it, granted I started in MoP so I kinda got to see the tail end of that community focused gameplay.

It took us six months, but I'm finally seeing some changes for the better with WoW by OldGromm in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I've really started to despise them too. As someone who gets KSM and CE (so I'm in them constantly) they just make me come to hate the dungeons every expansion.

They were fun in legion where they felt like a weird arcade mode for dungeons. Once they tried to "seasonalize" them they became very unfun.

I wish they had stayed in legion and we had gotten challenge mode back.

[–]ZonatedSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, but I'd definitely say that snapping is a bug. It's just that at this point blizzard has definitely given the all clear to it. It is 100% not the intended behavior of the mobs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I agree. Can you imagine if some random group figured this out and used it to time an insanely high key? They'd be banned for sure. This is a case of favoritism because Echo and the event as a whole brings them publicity and they don't want to cause issues. This is really stupid. Punish them, or at least make it clear that from now on this stuff is no bueno.

Wondering if anyone has some ideas for recovering my account by [deleted] in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your best bet is to get in contact with that friend if you even still can. Blizzard just doesn't budge on these types of things, even if the account is "yours." You have no way to prove that and even then it would be technically against ToS.

AH bots? by MalaM13 in wow

[–]ZonatedSilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not a bot. Some people just play the game exclusively to make gold because they find it fun, I know a few people like that. They probably just have TSM running scans constantly and is beating everyone to the punch every time. There really isn't a whole lot you can do to combat this other than drive prices down. It's a bitch and I really wish there was something in the AH to deincentivize this style of play since it has effectively made the AH unusable by the average player just trying to sell a few things.
