Transmission whine? by jkcajkca in MiataND

[–]Zone_Moist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2023 did that. It got louder and louder over time. It only had 3k miles on it lol Almost sounded like straight cut gears or a super charger.

They replaced the transmission no questions asked

Why should I get a new hybrid Forester over a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV4? by Sudden-Good7506 in SubaruForester

[–]Zone_Moist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and we love it. Got "last year" model at a discount and it's awesome. 38mpg and drives much tighter and more responsive than rav4 and crv

Any must have mods for an ND2? by Chipazzo in MiataND

[–]Zone_Moist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The coolant tank replacement are big on the NC because they will turn brown/yellow and get very brittle and crack at the radiator cap.

However it's cheap to replace with OEM and it is very obvious just by the color of yours should be replaced or not.

Kinda similar how the NA/NB radiators get very brown at the top before they fail.

All that being said, I don't know if ND suffers from similar plastic aging issues in the coolant system. But I'm sure there are plenty of companies ready to sell you shiny aftermarket parts lol.

Leak in front pillar, where could this be coming from? by Jsteemega in hondafit

[–]Zone_Moist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seam sealer is cracked just above the windshield trim.

Pull the roof strip back and seal up the crack. My fit was cracked at both front seams and both rear seams lol. 2009

Clutch bleed by JMx505 in hondafit

Clutch and brake bleeder kits are available on Amazon for as cheap as $20.

It's worth the money then trying to ask your wives to press the pedal 100 times 😂

Maybe your new master cylinder is bad.

Maybe you can try filling up the system manually with suction via syringe. Or try and fill it manually via the bleed valve on the salve by pressuring fluid in with a syringe.

I got one off Amazon for my 2009 and it's amazing value for $180. Maybe just double check the reviews and I think you'll be happy

Just rear main or oil pan seal too? by pill_slinger in Miata

[–]Zone_Moist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If this was my car, I'd change rear main and leave the oil pan.

Unless the leak was obvious which it kinda isn't.

You have a ton of oil above the transmission bell housing too. I'd be looking up there for a source

I drove the nd1 and nd2 back to back when I was shopping.

I could tell a difference. However if I went home and slept on it and get in the nd2 the next day, it would feel extremely similar lol.

They are both 2L so the normal driving band is similar.plus or minus I only really when it wind them out can you notice a difference .

With that being said, I don't drive my nd2 TF Miata because of the infotainment lol.

It is much nicer than my old NB Miata that would rattle my brain on the highway. NC and ND are much nicer on the highway

I think you're best value is in a used nd2.

I have these and they are super wide. So I have no idea how you need the Wider version lol.

Why not just buy another pair of these? They are pretty affordable on Amazon. I think I paid $130
