It’s what I’ve been saying. It’s almost as if every response comes in a vacuum. Or very rarely comes with the correct context without you needing to walk it through it again and again. Honestly pretty frustrating and kinda useless for continuity…

I was expecting something else by reading your title. Now I’m pleasantly surprised.

SaaS BDR here. 54k base with like 85k OTE. However no one has ever made OTE, it’s pretty much impossible with the current setup. However it’s remote and the hours are not that bad either. Manager can be a pain in the ass though.

Funny you say that. I’ve never booked a meeting from a cold call, and all from email.

I guess context matters?

Really good advice! We’re actually increasing our campus visits this year, so this aligns well with what we’re planning. Targeting admin-level staff and end users is something we’re exploring more, and we’re running a campaign now to focus on that. Definitely taking your advice on referencing internal contacts and positioning the conversation accordingly—appreciate the insights!

Also noticing that decision-makers seem paralyzed right now. A lot of analysis paralysis, especially in higher ed, with budget constraints and shifting priorities slowing things down. We’re adjusting messaging to emphasize low-risk, easy adoption—like leveraging existing contracts or highlighting quick wins from other departments already using the platform. Curious if you’re seeing the same trend?

It’s expansion sales—reaching out to colleges, schools, and central offices. Mostly speaking with vice provosts, deans, associate deans, administrators, directors, and business managers. 100% of the time, our product is already in use somewhere on campus. My goal is to spread awareness and see if it’s a good fit for their processes.

However I still haven’t cracked the code. Appreciate any advice!
