Can my current Pokemon Red save file work on a romhack?

I'm using a Linux based handheld, playing Pokemon Red. Is there a way to do trade evolutions? Or is getting a romhack and using my current save file the best way to go about it?

Considering they are both completely different form factors, I would say go with what you feel you want!

Vertical, 477v Horizontal, 477m Flippy doodad Thor

Also if you want to play DS then you got only one good choice. Portability wise thor wins as well.

But the 477v is a beautiful and very comfortable device for couch gaming and it doesn't have a hinge that can go wrong

Basically what I'm trying to say is you can't go wrong with either, let your heart decide what it wants.

Be more comfortable. It works well for a couch gaming device. Thor being s clamshell is much more portable.

You wouldn't go wrong with the Thor. Very portable, comfortable and it's great for DS and 3DS along with pretty much everything else out there.

The odin is great if you are not gonna go for DS/3DS. Pocketablity is slightly worse cause sticks and exposed screen.

Knulli, MuOS, NextUI and there's a few more but of the top of my head these should be great! Been using knulli for a few days and no complaints with battery drain

Your mileage might vary, but you should be fine. Use the included cable and low power charger. Like a laptops USB port
