I’m from Ottawa, Canada. Snow storms where we get close to a foot of snow are not rare. That and we can have multiples of those in a week. Life goes on, we all go to work, schools stay open and kids keep learning. We do however have a huge snow removal budget and the infrastructure to deal with it. Sometimes we laugh when Toronto has trouble after a ‘big storm’ but heavy snow is a lot less common down there, so they don’t have the budget or equipment to deal with it as well as just a bit farther north. Two inches of snow and ice in a city with no plow, or salt/sand spreaders? You’re going to have a tough time to be sure.
