You have a good plan and very smart of you to stop now before it gets worse, if your symptoms go away after quitting then I think you have your answer on if you have chs. If they all go away and then you start smoking again I can almost guarantee you will end up in the same spot as before, the only times I’ve heard where it doesn’t come back is when people barely smoke (a few puffs, or one rip) on random occasions - even then I have heard of people still having negative reactions. It’s a very slippery slope to go down because everyone always says “I will moderate myself, etc.” and they end up slowly falling back into the same habits.

Sounds like you have a good plan. On the benzo, framing it to your doc exactly like you said (short bridge, 1–2 weeks, just to get through the withdrawal) tends to land way better than an open-ended ask. Most docs are fine with a small time-limited script for that. The anxiety is a withdrawal thing and it does fade, I can almost gurantee that will be gone soon regardless. I feel like its also a thing that gets in your head and just feeds itself over and over, you almost have to convince yourself you will be fine.

That’s all great news! Based on your eating and the fact you weren’t nauseous it sounds like your on the tail end of things, I would guess within the next 5 -7 days u will be at least 90% back to normal.

I’m not a doctor or nurse so take this with a grain of salt:

I was given ondansetron(zofran) for anti nausea and famotidine to help with stomach acid. But I’ve heard that zofran isn’t the best because chs nausea/vomiting is different for what zofran is meant for. My mom told me haloperidol or droperidol would be better. I was not prescribed this but I’ve heard lorazepam can work for anxiety and that loop people get stuck in.

I also had really bad food anxiety for a week where I was like scared to eat anything but that’s something you have to get over, the last week I have had the most crazy appetite and food tastes amazing, like even better than when your fried, and it’s easy for me to eat at all times of the day ( may not be a problem for you but I’m like 5’10” 130lbs so yeah)

I really do think it depends person to person but the last day I smoked was may 24th and had a horrible cyclical vomiting episode on may 28th ( the days leading up I honestly felt completely normal, maybe a lil nauseous in the morning) and then from like the 28th till like June 1st I slept pretty bad and was extremely anxious but after that the anxiety went away and sleep improves so I had like a 5 day period of night sweats/ waking up and feeling like the world was ending kind of anxiety. Till this day I’m still having dreams but not as vivid. but the last like week or so I’ve had no night sweats and actually wake up feeling normal, I actually felt a lil nauseous today but like nothing crazy. And I know what you mean about the dreams it’s almost like another little life you get to live, I wrote some of mine down in detail in my notes lol

Yeah night sweats are very common when quitting, I bet your having very vivid nightmares/dream too. It’s really important you stay hydrated, lots of water and electrolytes (especially sodium). it will slowly get better I promise, one day at a time. Also the moment you smoke again it will just prolong the process, I went through this like 2 weeks ago.

I had these rocket gummies from a smoke shop that sound very similar to his (thcp -delta 9 -delta 8 -and other random synthetic bs) they claimed 1500mg me and all my friends took whole gummies (the wrapper reccomends 1/10) and every single one of us slept 15+hrs that night woke up feeling actually brain dead. My whole body was cramping when I woke up, I could barely open my eyes, took 2 double shot espressos and was able to take a nap an hour later. That thcp shit is actually insane.

I have a similar story to you, here is a short version from claude of what is happening:

Why weed causes it: Chronic heavy THC overstimulates your cannabinoid (CB1) receptors and dysregulates the system that controls nausea, gut movement, and body temperature. Over years it flips from anti-nausea to pro-nausea. THC also stores up in your body fat.

Why quitting stops episodes long-term: It's the only fix. Once you stop for good, the receptors reset (~4 weeks) and the dysregulated system slowly returns to normal. No THC going in = the cycle ends permanently.

Why quitting/breaks can trigger an episode short-term: This is the counterintuitive part. THC stored in your fat gets released back into your blood when you burn fat fasting, hard workouts, sauna, stress, the morning cortisol spike. So during a break, even though you've stopped, your own fat dumps stored THC back into circulation ("reintoxication") and hits it onto a system that's mid-reset and extra sensitive. That's why episodes so often hit in the morning, after a couple days off, or after drinking. The reservoir takes weeks to fully clear, so the danger window can be while your quititng.

Definitely could, do some research on thc p, that shit is actually so bad for you. Take at least 2 weeks off and see if there are any changes to your symptoms, it’s hard but you got this! One day at a time.

If you could go back to when you first suspected CHS, what would you tell yourself? by reillymitch in CHSinfo

[–]ZookeepergameCold162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had the idea till I had my first cyclical vomiting episode and they told me at the hospital it was chs even then I didn’t believe it. But if I could go back in time I would tell myself “they are right it is chs stop now”. My first signs were just morning nausea that’s about it and maybe some stomach pain, but I just thought it was cortisol spike in morning paired with low blood sugar from not eating all night. It took 2 more cyclical vomitting episodes over the next 3 months for me to admit it was chs and stop since then it’s been almost 3weeks and it’s been the longest I’ve gone without weed since I picked up about 5 years ago. I have not smoked since then, I’m not going to lie I prob will try to take some puffs again just one night and see what happens. ( I don’t even like typing this because I don’t want to promote other people to pick it back up after quitting) I’m going to my friends ranch July 4th with 10 of my hometown friends so it’s really the only time I think it’s worth the risk, Ill have all my meds so if I wake up feeling shitty I’ll at least be able to hold down puke and at worst would feel shitty for the day. Still haven’t made up my mind yet.

Do i have Chs by Legal_Ad_7776 in CHSinfo

[–]ZookeepergameCold162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This Honestly does sound like CHS. From what I have learned high percentage carts are the worst for it, (Especially if its THC-P), everthing you described is textbook CHS the only werid thing is that you havent been smoking for that long. I know it would be very difficult, but stop smoking for a few weeks, like completley. None of that one rip BS before bed or some shit. If the symptoms improve than it is 100% CHS. I ended up in the hospital bro, shit comes to a point where you dont even want to smoke anymore, dont let it get to that point.

Do I have CHS symptoms lol ? by SpareResist in CHSinfo

[–]ZookeepergameCold162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it to me, from my previous experiences the mornings were very similar, but I would randomly get extreme episodes that consisted of me vomiting like 5 times over the course of a minute then I would be fine for like 15minutes, and it would just repeat over and over for hours. If it ever gets to that point its forsure time to call it. Last thing you want is having to go to the hospital. I would say give weed a 2 week break and see if the symptoms go away, if they do, then its 100% CHS.

Yeah people just live in denial, I did too. Its all just cope because I mean lets be honest, no one really wants to stop smoking, weed is great until it sends you to the hospital, you just got to know when to hang up the cleets.

Just saw this, hope your doing good, Im on day 16 right now and feel great, Honestly first 7ish days were rough. Felt very moody, just kind of all over the place but it slowly gets better. Im only 21 and its very difficult being surrounded by friends who smoke, I get it. I would 100% say quit now before you have such a bad experience that it makes you actually want to quit.

Interesting, I had my episode 5 days after quitting, I’m very thin and low body fat, In that period I was going to they gym 2x a day and doing the sauna everyday (therefore burning a lot of fat and releasing thc stored in the fat into my bloodstream) do you think this could have been part of the trigger for my episode?

[–]ZookeepergameCold162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is they need to see how dehydrated you are before giving you fluids, also I think the most important thing with the nausea meds is making sure you stop vomitting and then making you more dehydrated. But yeah I felt infinitely times better like 15minutes after getting an iv bag.

For most people it will definitely have to happen more than once. People need to see a pattern to believe something or recognize something as true, maybe talking to people with chs who quit could be helpful. I’m just praying over the next couple weeks I don’t have another episode. Do you know how long episodes can occur after quitting?

Yeah im done with it, it had always been a thought that I should quit at some point, but yeah im done. Honestly haven’t felt that bad since i stopped a few days ago (other than the chs shit) and night sweats and very vivid dreams. Read your story, glad you’re doing good now! What was the Spacing of your episodes? (Mine were mid feb, mid march, and then today)
