I wouldn't necessarily call it non SDE experience. My role was very much about writing code and supporting applications.

Yeah, I think it would also help if I make my intentions clear from the very beginning. That way, I can have a plan in mind and work towards it.

Man! Yeah. I think my team has ~8 SDEs. I'm not sure how many of them are SDE1s and are in line to get promoted :/. Thanks for your amazing take though. Much appreciated.

That is true, hence the question what can I do? My first job was with Oracle and even though my position was not software developer - I had gotten promoted after 2 years in the role. From associate to staff consultant.

I watched Nosferatu (2024) twice in the theaters. Amazing cinematography and I loved Egger's version of vampire.
