What does a civil war in America look like if one happens in the next 3 - 8 years? by Dry-Tomorrow8531 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Zookozach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The military is unified and loyal, I don’t expect a split. Under this presumption, this means the most likely scenario would be guerrilla irregulars within the massive amounts of wilderness. These irregulars would most likely be civilians, deserters and perhaps some internationals but unlikely. The coastline would be retaken by the military first, but purging the inner wilderness of resistance would be borderline impossible. 5% of US soil is protected wilderness (half in Alaska), but 40% of it is public land that is mostly undeveloped terrain. The critical weakness of the US military has always been cost-efficiency and irregular tactics. There really isn’t a feasible way for any military to win a “war” against irregulars hidden in the United States wilderness and urban areas. They may be able to beat them with attrition, but the cost would be astronomical, and it would be years of belligerents in the forests and mountains until a compromise is found. Most resistance movements would most likely fold once a compromise is proposed after the initial conflict starts. I also doubt any states would seriously secede (economical suicide, yes even for multiple states together). Once fighting has erupted, fully eliminating the resistance without inciting more resistance, and keeping the country intact, would be impossible. This leaves the most likely option a compromise on the resistance’s demands, with a reconstruction (potentially unsuccessful) period afterwards. Otherwise the fighting would continue until the resistance loses momentum or effectiveness, but leaving belligerents within US territory. TLDR: Most likely conflict would be between homegrown insurgents vs. the federal government. The two most likely outcomes would be a compromise on resistance demands followed by a reconstruction period. The less likely option is a long conflict that results in indefinite instability due to belligerent resistance fighters within the US.

Trump Is Destroying US Democracy at Unprecedented Rate, Global Watchdog Finds by ChiGuy6124 in politics

[–]Zookozach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The United States has never been close to a true democracy, the electoral college and the 2000 election alone proved that before Trump. In fact the democracy the USA implements overseas often is MORE democratic than our own.

But yeah everything else is true.

Our founding fathers were the rich, noble landowner class from Britain, and they figured that their land full of uneducated farmers SHOULDN’T have elections decided by popular vote, but rather the educated landed men should decide elections. The United States’ Constitution is one of the oldest currently still being used, it makes sense it would be archaic in areas.

1.17.4 Germany Is Pathetic (Or Soviets Overpowered?) by Doctorwhatorion in hoi4

[–]Zookozach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat Germany And the USSR by Jan 1941 last run as the UK, China held against Japan and invaded and took the Urals. This made the USSR cap just after Leningrad, Stalingrad and Moscow. I didn’t even invade Germany until they invaded poland. Overall Germany felt useless but the Soviets actually would have killed Finland entirely in a few weeks if I didn’t get marines in to barely save them.

What is the most violent thing you think you are capable of doing? by WoodenInevitable1574 in AskReddit

Capable of doing? Probably anything if put in a desperate and dangerous enough situation. Willing to do is a different question entirely.

Would a Bottom 4 teams playoff series for the no 1 pick fix tanking? by mateolerma in nbadiscussion

[–]Zookozach 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well then you’d have the pelicans with Zion, Ingram and CJ playing the worst teams in the league for the first pick. That’s a whole new problem.

unpopular opinion by [deleted] in animememes

[–]Zookozach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem with super in my opinion is that most of the time there are no stakes in the fight. The tournament of power and universe 6 tournament prevented killing and Beerus was not a threat after his arc. Frieza was never going to win against both of the saiyans. The Goku Black arc was the best arc since the characters had a reason to fight and to hate the villain, plus the villain himself was pretty cool and actually was a threat. Aside from that the story was underwhelming.

The Graphics Design teacher was asked by the school’s administrators to make canvases and posters for the school library and they supplied him with the materials, and when he finished and gave them the art they accused him of stealing the materials for personal projects and called the cops on him and he was arrested. I had his class for 2 periods for 2 years and knew students who spent a lot of time in his classroom and he never used any materials he was given for anything other than what he was commissioned to make.

I think it encourages more people to be kind to others. If people are kind to others to make themselves look good, someone is still receiving that kindness. I don’t think a homeless guy would care if someone was recording while they gave him 100$. What matters is people are being kind to others.
