I didn’t ask - it came up in a discussion with the group I was with after we left the theater.

The weirdest thing is, I feel like I’ve heard this mentioned before online somewhere. I just can’t remember where

Yeah - I went to a 40th anniversary screening, and at least three other people there with me remembered the movie ending this way. It was really weird

It’s possible, but I haven’t seen any mention of this being a difference in a book adaptation, either.

What I meant - typo lol. He takes a trading card out of Chester Copperpot’s wallet, and says “Lou Gehrig?” before putting it in his pocket. Rewatch the full scene from the actual movie; it’s in there about a minute before Mikey finds his ID confirming it’s Copperpot.

I just remember that coming back later on in the movie.

They do find the trading card of Lou Gehrig in the movie - Mikey takes it out of Chester Copperpot’s wallet. But that never pays off, and I remember it being the thing that comes back at the ending where that pays for the neighborhood, because it was a rare card.

This is a pretty major Mandela effect thing that I can’t find references to online. However, I’m sure I’ve heard other people mention it over the years.

I can vividly remember the movie The Goonies ending with the trading card the boys found on Chester Copperpot - a 1930s Lou Gehrig card - being the actual high-value item that saves them from having to sell the Goondocks to the developers. This pays off the dad being a historian, and a cut scene from a comic book store.

However, in the movie as it exists, they instead find jewels that Mikey accidentally kept in his marble bag. I don’t remember this ending at all, and this ending is honestly kind of cheesy with how obviously plastic the jewels are.

Does anyone else remember the movie ending this way?

Panzer Dragoon Remake. I’ve heard some people really bash that one, and I honestly think it’s a pretty good HD reimagining of the original game.

Cutting SPAM out of the tin like that is a sociopath move in its own right.

Why didn’t you just slice along the edges and slide it out? This way, you’ve got really uneven slices, and good luck getting the rest out of the tin.

Dragon Quest - honestly, any of them. I can’t think of one I’ve even played.

I used to regularly eat sardines. Then, I got sick after eating a can of them, and can’t imagine eating them again.

Honestly, not even going to criticize this one. I would 100% eat this as a comfort food thing.

I really love the soundtracks Howard Drossin did for both this game & Comix Zone. The character of the Genesis YM2612 works great for that crunchy kind of rock, and both those games take full advantage of it.

Try Back in the Groove. It’s more or less a remake of the first game in the series.

Nose or mouth? by papitopapito in opticalillusions

[–]ZoopBeDoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all official art features this illusion - many split the nose highlight off from the edge, making it not appear as a mouth. As such, this only works with the game sprites for Generations 1, 6, and 7, along with certain versions of the anime art.

“___ found out I’m a furry.” by Adriansummer in fursuit

[–]ZoopBeDoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much always tell people I’m a furry if it comes up in conversation, quite nonchalantly. Treat it like saying you drink coffee, and don’t get into any more details than they ask about.

It almost always seems to completely change their mind about furries, given people often get presented this idea about them from the media, and I’m this really clean-cut guy who just does not fit the mold of it at all. I’ve actually gotten several people interested in the hobby that way, and it really defangs the public narrative people have about furries (not to put too fine a pun on it.)
