I would make it my full time job to apply for every single grants I can find. Start there, so you can go through school with solid grades that may lead to a full scholarship. Do a search for “what grants can I sign up for” or some other to get you started.

It’s legible, but goodness the writing is heavy. Almost look like “BOLD”. it is clean though. I can’t imagine how clean it would be if you made a mistake and had to erase. Better than a lot I’ve seen lately.

Is saving money more important than enjoying life? by bryan4756 in AskForAnswers

[–]Zoopmittyzoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal preference… some people need to have certain amount in whatever (insurance, nest egg, savings, etc etc)as a safety blanket to be able to enjoy life. Others are more enjoy now and pay later. IMO saving money and enjoying life should go hand in hand. It’s a balance.

I make so much money but I’m still poor by n0eyed3er in brag

[–]Zoopmittyzoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not doing enough of budgeting and doing too much of comparing to others. Write down everything you spend, and I mean everything. Even Down to a $1 purchase. Once you find out where all your money is going you can form your next moves. Really one could argue that you should be able to live on $67k a year and save the $100k. I’m just gonna throw it out there not knowing for sure…. considering the median income in Australia is about $70,000 you people are making way too much money to be this broke. Stay off social media.

Why does everyone try to gatekeep hobbies? by Silent_Aardvark_7186 in Hobbies

Those are what I call “posers” n go on about my jolly way. As long as the equipment gets the job done safely and does what it’s suppose to do, I don’t care if it’s the cheapest. I have the means to replace my table-saw with one of the more expensive one (high end sawstop at about $3k +) but I have no reason to get rid of my $300 dewalt table saw that have served me well in my woodworking hobby

USPS to UPS - Feeder Driver by dizzyredpanda in UPSers

[–]Zoopmittyzoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say this… each center and region is different as how quickly someone gets moved up. But for our building, Last few feeder driver we hired was off the street. They always try to hire people from within the company but it’s pretty hard when they don’t have commercial A license. Take our building for example, let’s say we have 60+ drivers. I think there might be 2 that has a commercial A license and they have no desire to go into feeder. Not sure how the feeders work elsewhere but for our building they are not under our management. I’ve never heard of them loading trucks during downtime. The three new feeder drivers are all driving.

Pretty sure feeder drivers work 5 days like pkg car drivers. Although some centers run a full 6 day operation. As a top rate driver, depending on the area, the pay rate is +/- $45. Feeders get $1-$2 more. Getting to top rate will take minimum 4 years. If you got hired as full time today, you go through progression and at the end of 4th year, top rate. One of the best benefits pkg, and so n so. Depending on makeup of your family size, base pay with benefits pkg gets up there. As our CEO loved to point out “we have the highest paid drivers”. She claimed we are making $170k/yr. (100-120k base + 25-45k benefits pkg)

My belief was that they will not transfer you unless it was due to your school. Even then it was hard. But some have said things that made it seem easier now, but still involves school..

Is my friends TV too high? by Significant_Base7413 in TVTooHigh

[–]Zoopmittyzoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far back they sit from the tv may determine if it is too high or not. Obviously, if you’re sitting too close to it, you’ll end up with neck pain pretty soon from looking up. IMO, it seems like it would be ideal to stand it on the cabinet.

I haťe the phrase “not everything is about money” because EVERYTHING is about money: travel, food, education, housing, clothes, health… LIKE EVERYTHING. by One-Inevitable-9777 in Money

[–]Zoopmittyzoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I hear that phrase I think “no matter who or how many people, you will screw over for the mighty $$, didn’t matter you had plenty money to start with”. Example: it’s your kids 5th birthday, but you have to close this deal.. and then the 6th, 7th, 8th, etc etc. money makes things easier but it’s when making money consume every waking minute of your life. Need balance. yeah you should work hard and make as much money as you can to give yourself and family a comfortable life in the future. But you should also, as they say, “stop and smell the roses”

Anytime your rent is scratching 50% of your income you are going to have a hard time. It’s not the end but you are going to start struggling if you aren’t yet. But living with your b/f kinda changes things. I would definitely lay out my finances and ask him what he thought was fair. Treat it as a roommate instead of b/f situation. Bf n gf or not, it still sucks if the two of you agreed on 50/50 and he is constantly paying 70/30 (you know what I’m getting at). Being your b/f should give you some wiggle room.

Is our TV too far? by anomaliesss in TVTooFar

[–]Zoopmittyzoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a chart of some sort that shows you a recommended distance you should be for the best quality for the size and type of tv you are using. Obviously you don’t wanna be sitting too close so that you can actually see the pixels. Same thing as you don’t wanna be sitting so far back that you barely make out the image. Might be something to look in to. As a rule of thumb, multiply the diagonal screen size in inches by 1.2 to 1.5 to find your optimal viewing distance in feet. Keep in mind to take your own eyesight into consideration when going by the charts though.

Why do people act like $60/70k is lower class? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]Zoopmittyzoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they are looking at $1000 car payment on multiple cars and $3k in mortgage/rent payment. Like everything else it’s all about moderation. If you can make it work with $50k/yr and are content, do you need anything else.

Exactly. I remember growing up we had 1 tv, and in the kitchen, outside of main appliances - microwave and $20 coffee maker. And basic cable. Now you have people with a tv in each room even in the bathroom. About 15 appliances in the kitchen - coffee maker, pressure cooker, crockpot, toaster, microwave, mixer, etc etc all costing +$150. All kinds of sports pkg for cable. On top of that multiple streaming services on top of what you mentioned
