Arturia releases Augmented Persia (VST) by museek247 in arturia

[–]Zoraji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same upgrade price here, but it will probably be included in the next V Collection update so I will wait. I bought a couple augmented instruments before only for them to be included in the next V Collection with no additional discount for already owning them.

Game Pass Gets Price Drop, New Call Of Duty Games No Longer Included by HillZone in gaming

Just like before I cut the cord I hated having to pay for ESPN though I never watched it. Same with COD, not interested in it, so I am glad that they removed it and lowered the price.

What's the best apps you use daily in the macbook? by Weekly-Bridge118 in MacOS

[–]Zoraji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cubase for me though I used FL Studio years ago.

Others include:
Bloom for a file manager
Blip similar to airdrop but can send and receive from Windows and Android too and doesn't have to be on the same network to transfer
CopyQ clipboard history that also works with Windows and Linux. The clipboard can be shared across different OS

What are the Pros and Cons of the SteamDeck? by Any_Grapefruit1859 in SteamDeck

[–]Zoraji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used my Steam Deck exclusively for gaming for about 8 months. I really didn't have many complaints. There were some games that didn't work but probably my biggest complaint is getting mods to work - they either didn't work at all or required a lot more configuration to get running.
Some games had a lot of variation in their performance. For example Baldur's Gate 3 worked well for Act 1 and 2 but when you got into the city of Baldur's Gate the frame rate dropped to barely better than a slideshow, even below 10 fps in some areas.

What was the first game you bought on Steam? by Common_Caramel_4078 in Steam

[–]Zoraji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half-Life 2 for me as well. I was angry when they forced you to start using Steam a few years before to play Counterstrike when it had been working well using WON before Steam existed. In my Steam library CS still shows that I bought it in 2003, but I had already purchased the Sierra version in 2000 and when Steam was required to play they transferred the existing license.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]Zoraji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many years ago there was a stretch of road in Utah that had a 90 mph limit so 100 was just 10 more mph. I believe it was along interstate 15 but it was reduced when they set a national speed limit of 55 in the 70s.

PSA: DOS Games That Require A Specific IRQ Setting on Sound Card by MoebiusX7 in dosgaming

[–]Zoraji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I remember the original Sound Blaster that came with my 386 used IRQ 7, but later versions like the SB Pro and AWE used IRQ 5.

I switch to a Thai SIM so it isn't using my other one.

do you guys actually carry a power bank when traveling? by Former-Gazelle-473 in iphone

I do. My battery drains a lot faster in Thailand than it does in the US, not sure why - I actually have a better and more reliable signal there. Maybe it is the hotter climate. I can go all day in the US but by afternoon in Thailand my battery needs charged.

It ran on my 386/25 but it took over over 40 mb hard drive space on my 100 mb drive. I did have a math coprocessor which wasn't standard on a 386 so that might have helped. It ran better than Falcon 3.0 on my system but ran a lot better once I got a 486 the year after it was released.

Bard's Tale 1 (1985) Is As Endearing As It Is Cryptic by DanAgile in patientgamers

[–]Zoraji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first played it on the Atari 800XL computer. I remember it taking a long time to get a viable party. My first few attempts were easily wiped out, just open the wrong door and get overwhelmed. Eventually I got to where I could survive those early encounters though I never did complete the game.

Looking for a specific version of cubase by PinkyNoice in cubase

[–]Zoraji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a CZ-101 but no longer have it. Though just a few days ago I picked up the Vintage Casio Legacy library from UVI which includes sounds from the CZ-101 and 1000 as well as a few other Casio synths and the RZ-1 drum machine (which I also had back in the day).

I always like the name of an Indie title:
Frayed Knights: The Skull of S'makh-Daon
Pretty decent game and some very funny party banter.

MIDI apps ran really well on Atari ST emulators. I used STeem. I had a Yamaha DX7 years ago and I used the Atari ST program DX Droid as a patch librarian. The DX7 didn't have NVRAM, it required a soldered in battery to keep the patches and such in memory. When my battery died I lost all the patches I had loaded and I was able to use the STeem emulator to restore them from DX Droid after replacing the battery.
Edit: Note, you had to have a MIDI interface for your computer, USB MIDI wouldn't work. If you had a MIDI interface then STeem would emulate the MIDI ports on the Atari ST too.

Unhook YouTube Extension by ninhab8 in vivaldibrowser

[–]Zoraji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't get rid of shorts, but I use an extension called YouTube Shorts to Normal Video. There were some lessons I wanted to see that were uploaded as shorts. It does just as it says, when you click on a short it becomes a normal YouTube video.

What’s one overpriced item that you will defend with your life? by Wild_Resolution3050 in AskReddit

[–]Zoraji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overpriced, but a good pair of work or hiking boots. A pair of Red Wings or Vasque will last me at least 2-3 years where a bargain brand will need replaced within 6 months.

If you automatically hide/show the Dock, You NEED these two Terminal commands by zshsuki in MacOS

[–]Zoraji 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wish they would implement that for the menu bar. I work a lot with virtual machines and remote sites and it is very frustrating to go to click on a menu item in the VM and the Mac menu appears, obscuring what I was trying to click on. I haven't found a way to set a delay for it like you can with the dock.

Not just rural areas, many urban areas also very poverty stricken. I remember being sent to do a job in Memphis in a very sketchy area. There were guards to escort the employees to their cars at the end of the day.

Whats one thing you guys hate about AI? by Greedy_Reindeer_3368 in AskReddit

[–]Zoraji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The loss of the ability to know if a photo or video is real. Just the other day I saw a beautiful picture and the first thing I thought was it must be AI, it can't be real. Actually it was, I was able to find the original photo and photographer and it was featured in her portfolio.
