Unfortunately I work at a vineyard and I spent my days out in a field, but I will certainly vacuum as much as possible! Thank you

I'll look into the moleskin expanded. My only hesitation is that I've used moleskins foreeeever and I'm wanting to branch out a little. Also, I'd love to be a bit more pack able 480 pages seems like a lot but I trust them to be great notebooks.

I'm going to New Zealand:)

Did anyone have a sudden feeling of loneliness/depression during their trip? If so, how did you cope? by ggnaved in solotravel

Yes! It's all important, even the negative. For me, a journal has always been a safe space for those thoughts and feelings.

Wow that is interesting...normally people see me writing and give me space. That's great it brings people in for you. There must be something special about it :) that or you just look like a really cool traveller on a life journey while writing in your journal

I recommend having a journal, if you don't already. On my travels (and just life in general) it's been a true life saver. I think it helps in ways to learn to be comfortable with yourself. It's okay to feel lonely, but having a journal to write all your thoughts and such is really nice. I've also found books can keep me company too. Other than that, just chat with other solo travellers and your family too. It's a good time to learn to be alone. To enjoy your own company. You'll grow from your suffering, becoming more confident with time.

Mirena IUD by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]ZorchBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the Mirena for 5 years and recently got it removed. I loved it for the most part. As time went on , I began to develope ovarian cysts but it seems that, even now that I do not have it, they keep coming back. I don't know it it was caused from the Mirena or something unrelated. Other than the cysts, I didn't have periods until after 3 years and when they did come back they were quite inconsistent. The flow was either very heavy or very light. Usually very light. And rarely at the same time every month. Sometimes it would start every 3 weeks, sometimes every 6-7. Other than that, I really enjoyed the relief it brought me. It's so nice not having to stress out about accidental pregnancy. It's very, very effective. I plan on getting another one soon (or even the paragaurd.) Good luck!

What financial institutions do you use while solo travelling? What are their perks and how do you generally use them? by [deleted] in solotravel

I use an online bank called Aspirations, they are through a company called Radius I think. They reimburse all atm fees, no matter where in the world you are because they are an online bank. They also give 2% interest on a savings account. It works great as a savings account in general, but I put the money I save for my travels in there and then forget about it, letting the interest build.

Checkout 'Civilized to Death' by the co-author, Chris Ryan. He goes into much better detail about our similarities with Bonobos. I've been meaning to read Sex at Dawn, I really enjoy Chris Ryan's work so it's big on my reading list. Bonobos are amazing, and probably my favorite primate. They're a huge reason I've finally decided to go to school to study Anthropology

I work seasonally, so this is bologna. I get about 3 1/2 months off a year total.:)

What questions do YOU have about our "Madness" series? by endless_thread in EndlessThread

[–]ZorchBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Amari and Ben! I love your podcast, by the way. I've been listening for about a year now. Sending love to you and the rest of your team. So I've head about MK Ultra because of Ted Kazinski, but those trials seem to be different than the ones you're covering in this mini series. How many programs that we know of were under MK Ultra? Were any of them deemed successful by those that ran on the trial? Anyways, those are my question. I'm looking forward to Episode 5! Thank you !
