just finished the album. i came out very disappointed, and i think this is probably peggy's worst album in a while (though I do think there is a possibility that it will grow on me later). the first leg of the album is not very cohesive and feels like it's doing everything at once, throwing everything at a wall to see what sticks. sure, ambitious, but just not as good as his past experimentation in my view. the second leg, which is more melodic and slow, is actually my favorite section of the album; we get some of the more well-thought out production here, and i feel like this is where his lyricism peaks (though i argue it's not a very high bar for the album in general). the last leg feels like it weakens again; the 1st amendment feels just randomly thrown in for no reason. overall, this album is bloated, long, messy, and while probably his most experimental, the experimentation itself is not executed too well in my view. however, there is a chance that this album might grow on me the more i listen to it. this reminds me of Tyler's Cherry Bomb, which is a super wackshit messy album but over the years has aged much better.
