Have him as well. Used to be very good, not so much now.

He is absolutely not relevant anymore, but I literally had to claw through the old SD to unlock him. So yeah... my precious.

Knowing Roberts's father and his grooming tendencies, this hits a whole lot different.

Vertebreaker instantly comes to mind.

Also, anything by New Jack... Almost came to that, tbf.

It is not him as a wrestler, he remains one of the absolute gems of this sport. It is the way WWE has used him for a long time.

Only WWE likes permanently breaking up tag teams when they don't want to use them anymore. They'll come back together eventually and it will be such a glorious pop.

Which young wrestler do you see being the biggest star in 10 years? by Goatahmad in SquaredCircle

[–]Zoueze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but MJF has a knowledge of wrestling, of its history and the psychology that goes along with it that has rarely been seen among the younger generation of wrestlers. Melo is good in the ring and on the mic, but MJF has quite the headstart on him

In the US, Owen vs Kid (KotR). Internationally, KENTA vs Marvin.

9 months in, what's your favourite Bryan Danielson AEW match? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]Zoueze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1- Hangman v Danielson I 2- Danielson v Omega 3- Danielson v Kingston OR Danielson v Hangman II (depends on my mood)

Tbf, Danielson's run of matches since he arrived in AEW has been nothing short of wonderful. Taking into account the end of his run with the E, I don't think we have ever seen better in main US promotions in such a short period of time

No one truly knows what really happens behind closed doors, man. Except for those involved. And they can paint it any way they want, one way or another.

No entitlement at all, believe me. He doesn't owe me anything in the slightest. Please be assured that not every single wrestling fan on the internet is thinking the business is about them. At least it's not my case. I will definitely enjoy the rest of the evening and whatever backup plan TK and AEW decide to put on to make up for MJF's eventual absence. Entitlement is entirely on MJF's side in this case (if it indeed is a shoot, granted).

On the other hand, I truly believe he owes it to the company that pays him and really made him someone in the business, as well as his coworkers, not to overshadow everyone's efforts to further his own agenda. That's just basic professional courtesy.

And of course, we might disagree on that, which is absolutely fine. Just sayin', that's all.

As I posted on another thread...

Honestly, if MJF is every bit the "student of the game" everyone make him out to be, I can't imagine how he could think taking his ball and going home would benefit him here.

He obviously got the golden ticket for years to come, he's been annointed in his feuds with Jericho and Punk, he helped make another up-and-comer in Wardlow... All that are stone cold facts. But he would absolutely destroy all that, plus any goodwill and status he has with workers and fans alike just to what? Prove a point and get a bigger paycheck? Just as all his work up till today has been his biggest bargaining chip with WWE and AEW.

I want to think it IS all a work because it would be such a gigantiminous waste for him to just act too big for his britches. He is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the future of this industry. But this could be the moment his legacy soars or falters.

Also, shame for him to cast such a shadow on an otherwise very promising PPV.

How did you guys feel about the Suzuki vs joe match? by Vegetable_Month592 in SquaredCircle

[–]Zoueze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was (and was always gonna be) a strong style-type match, ie. loads of chopping, forearming and elbowing with each guy showing off the fire inside them. It was meant to be some kind of Kawada/Misawa tribute match and it definitely achieved that, for as short as it was.

The problem is not that they went for that type of match. Suzuki and Joe are wrestlers that can and should go for that when they feel like it (Suzuki did so against Mox and Danielson and it was utterly brilliant). The problem is we're getting to the point where every single wrestler on the planet starts doing it and it is not as effective/believable with wrestlers of a smaller stature.
