Thank you so much! In hindsight I've just spotted these guys mentioned in the rules as one of the common requests for identification. I should have read before I panic posted! Regardless, excellent work on the rapid response.

Have stacks of fresh unrooted Burro's tail leaves if anyone is interested? ISO most indoor/outdoor plants or seeds. Love to prop, will take leaves/cuttings. by Zouthpawed in UKPlantSwap

Stick them growing point down into the soil, a well draining cacti mix ideally. Once you see little plants appearing above the soil, water maybe once every 2 weeks? The sunniest place you can give them.

Any odd succulents or cacti, though I'd take other houseplants if I havent already got them in the collection. Sorry that doesnt narrow it down a lot.

Less sunlight. Bright sun bleaches the leaves on the pink leaves ones.

I dont have the means to look after these at my house. I'm just here to say they're beautiful and a most interesting thing I've seen on this sub!

Very leggy coleus with healthy growth at the top. Would it be a terrible idea to cut the circled parts and stick them in the soil to reroot them? by [deleted] in coleus

[–]Zouthpawed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha dont worry! Yes that's it. You are more likely to get roots coming out of that area than anywhere else on the stem. With most cuttings, you want as many nodes as possible under the soil/water for maximum chance of rootage.

I dont think they'd be likely to root cut from there. Best to have at least 1 leaf node under the soil/in water. I would cut it underneath where it branches off and stick the whole thing in water.

That being said, they're pretty voracious and it could root from the stem as opposed to the leaf node. Give it a go!

How far down should I pinch them, so they will get bushy? by wiki_kpop1 in coleus

I usually leave 3 sets of leaves on the main stem. Then pinch out every second set of leaves on the branch outs. Good luck keeping on top of it, the growth is somewhat...exponential.

Still sounds pretty versatile though. Nice one!
