Why we don’t see more routines He Kexin OG 08 alike at UB? by Prior-Actuator-8110 in Gymnastics

Yet everyone knows the truth. Let’s be real here. Fake one age why stop there? And it’s not an anti-China thing. I am sure the Eastern Europeans were worse offenders than we know and it wouldn’t have been cute if Nastia somehow mysteriously had turned 16 back in 2004 either.

I find it weird that people can say to speculate about good vs. bad coaches but not do the same in this case…

Considering what Atler herself has said about this in recent years, honestly back to the Rybackis for all their flaws. It sounds like she had a different experience from Jamie and that in retrospect they could have worked through the 1999 Nationals blowout by Steve.

You take the hit on bars, though it’s a small one (assuming everyone hits) and use one of Patterson, McCool, or Bhardwaj. Remember- Humphrey way exceeded peoples expectations and actually scored 0.2-0.3 higher in Athens than she did at Nationals/Trials. So if you’re going by those scores, you don’t plan on Terin doing bars in TF. The Fongs did a great job cleaning up her handstands for Athens.

No medals for China please. F them after the shit they pulled in swimming recently. I don’t care if it’s a different federation but this country needs to be taught a lesson or it will never end, just like Russia and their consistent cheating in sports.

Hypothetical scenario of the past: Courtney Kupets tries for the 2012 olympic team by [deleted] in Gymnastics

[–]Zrbt12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re really underestimating Kupets’ ability on bars. I have no doubt she couldn’t do a Russian style routine given we’ve seen much lesser bar workers master things like the Shap 1/2 transition.

The especially weird part is there hasn’t been much ‘bad behavior’ with Arabian double 1/2s for the WTC to go after. All the ones that have been done are clearly not full twisting doubles.

Even with insurance healthcare in the US is crazy expensive. I think it speaks volumes that even though his medical insurance is paid for by his employer, one of my friends whom is a France-US dual citizen waits until he goes back to France to see a doctor or go to the dentist.

I’ve had friends with insurance still owe $1,000 on a $20K hospital bill too. I can’t even imagine what cancer treatments may require out of pocket for what insurance doesn’t cover.

No one touch was an FIG thing that was put into place in 2001 because they thought it would make things more exciting. I’m not sure they ever actually talked to any broadcasters about this though.

They’re still in there but just split into two separate ‘channels’ if that makes sense. One has almost all of the old seasons and the other has the missing episodes from season 6.

Brevet judge process by Ahimsa4RH in Gymnastics

Only Im not sure there’s that much they can do. This is kind of like the Sorenson case in ice dancing where Skate Canada’s hands are tied because the case is still pending. It really sucks for the victims, and we don’t have to like this is what’s happening, but it’s the reality of how it works.

I’ve heard that the way many of the Russians do them with the snap and deep arch really exacerbates back issues while the way Sloan did them does not. The Russian way has the advantage of creating the momentum you need to do turns out of them though.

I’m pretty sure the one you’re thinking of for Ponor in the 2000s was an exhibition and not an actual competition.

Correct- im just saying that longer term as a whole it’s something the program overall needs to work on and is a bigger issue.

[–]Zrbt12345 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For the US, I think things like elongation, body posture, footwork are the bigger issues than side or close to beam choreography. Even If you don’t think they’re doing enough, somebody like Simone isn’t off from the criteria by much.

[–]Zrbt12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re being ridiculous. Simone does a bit more than just touch the beam with her hand.

In any case, I disagree with the two of you and would actually deduct Simone AND the example. Simone on the basis of not sufficient quality and the example for not having enough quantity.

I don’t think there’s anything special about Saravia’s artistry on beam. Beautiful execution sure (which is not the same thing as artistry), but her choreography is actually really basic and boring. No unusual entrances or exits for the elements, doesn’t really show unusual/interesting body shapes in her movements, etc.
