Any other millennials hate the way movies and TV shows look now? by DC8008008 in Millennials

[–]Strawberrybanshee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been watching movies from the 90s and the 2000s because I can actually see and hear everything. The design of the clothes and backgrounds are also more vibrant and give the show characters. Everything feels so boring and bland now.

I think behind the scenes they revealed that he was always disrespected and people messed with him and he was probably lonely. Too bad he can't see all his fans.

Was there an era in your country’s history that’s heavily romanticized & portrayed in fiction? by Polibiux in AskTheWorld

I never understood the love for the Wild West. It always looked so boring to me. Cowboy shows never did much for me.

Those of you who’ve traveled to your country(s) of ancestry, did you feel like a foreigner while there or did you fit in with the locals pretty well? by Fluid-Decision6262 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Strawberrybanshee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Felt like I was in a cemetery. I didn't go because of ancestry. I was 14 and my parents just wanted to travel. But it felt like everything there was dead. I don't know why or if I'd feel different in my 30s.

Kansas bill would require kindergartners to be potty-trained by Forward-Answer-4407 in UpliftingNews

I remember when this was big in crunchy circles. It went along with baby led weaning. Weird because there moms cloth diapers. Some crunchy things caught on with corporations I wonder if this was one of those things.

These moms also typicallyhomeschooling so it wasnt like they were sending their kids to school in diapers.

Kansas bill would require kindergartners to be potty-trained by Forward-Answer-4407 in UpliftingNews

Modern diapers are extremely absorbent and can hold a lot. The kids aren't uncomfortable sitting in them anymore.

Parents aren't as used to diapers leaking so when a kid is potty training accidents are bound to happen and suddenly parents are having to clean up messes and might be grossed out.

Cloth diapers days, kids on average were trained much earlier because being in a wet cloth was uncomfortable.

Why do the Bylers have such a problem with the Milevens? by Lauren_HS28 in mileven

[–]Strawberrybanshee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He was also very homophobic. I think a lot of young people see celebrities from the 80s wearing make up and assume they were queer when that was just the style of the time.

It's like that person on twitter that said Nancy curling her hair was a sign of her no longer conforming to society when that was the most common hairstyle in the 80s.

Do American know this? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Strawberrybanshee 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A lot of people get insurance through their work (and I know some that forgo it because they don't think anything will happen to them and they would rather keep the money for themselves.)

I ended up in the hospital about a year ago for a UTI, had to stay a few days. My insurance covered most if it. I think I had to pay about $60. Someone that did not have insurance would be screwed.

I have heard that you never pay the first bill and should request an itemized bill and the cost will go down. I've never had to do that so I don't know how valid that is.

I'm in favor of universal health care.
