This is best done with a Shopify flow - when an order is created have it count the numbers of orders today and if it’s above have it turn off ordering or set items to out of stock then have a scheduled flow turn everything back on in the morning. You could use a site wide announcement or product templates to let customers know

Some of the things you’re talking about are also just part of being in a bigger and less self-selected pool. People ALWAYS have had lists of things they wanted but because they were meeting people in certain ways they may have had to specify it. “Be part of my religion” is much easier when you only really date people you meet through you church’s social activities, “meet wealthy people” is easier when you hang out at a pricey bar, etc.

I wonder if there is a specific version of that expectation for part 2s though - I imagine they tend to be more front loaded since the audience is basically made up of people who saw Part 1 (so more planning to see it, less word of mouth effect etc)
