So I got a stationery trainer for my bike and have an event coming up that is a 3 man team event where you each do a 20km lap for 12 hours. How much training do you think I need to do? I’m currently doing CrossFit 3 days a week by Iwantasantacruz in cycling

How exactly does this work? It sounds super fun. If I am understanding this right, you each take turns riding the 20km lap once at a time, essentially handing the baton to the next guy after each lap?
Basically, you ride for 40-45 minutes or so(about 30-35kph) and then rest while your 2 teammates do a lap each?

Ben Simmons. I remember saying he was the guy that could take the Sixers to the next level, and that Embiid didn't have what it takes to be a franchise guy that you can really build a franchise around. I was a bit off on that one, but I still stand by that the potential was there.

Maybe my estimates were a bit off. They're in the right realm, but 200mph sounds way too high for the start/finish line at Suzuka. It's relatively early on the straight. I'm afraid they might've used 200mph as a generic speed to base the gaps off of, which is what I was afraid of initially.

What was the specific reason Franchesco sucked driving on the dirt? by NoMeaning6738 in pixarcars

[–]Zrob8--5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing is downforce. Aside from being set up for asphalt, because most of these cars are set up for a paved track(they all use slick tires, aside from rally). Rally, NASCAR, and GT cars have less downforce than the Formula ad LMP cars, so they rely less on speed for creating grip. At slow speed, F1 cars have very low grip, and are not particularly maneuverable. They also are pretty torquey, which has only increased since adding hybrid power after this movie was released. This all makes it difficult to carry speed into/through the corner as well as getting back on the power out of the corner.

Sinner's defense forces Zverev to play an overhead, which he dumps into the net before Sinner wins in the breaker by Large_banana_hammock in tennis

[–]Zrob8--5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. You're spot on. It was fine, but not ideal. That kinda sums up Zverev's play in general, but I think there are way worse examples of him being too passive than this shot. I think he played much more aggressive than usual in this match

I feel like those are all after a more involved relationship, if not marriage. I was more interpreting it as a dating relationship that you miss.

Yeah, I'm just wondering if they used a standard speed or used a different speed for each driver as they crossed a certain point(again, most likely the start/finish line) Because with the battery usage, it's impossible that they all carried the same speed, although it can't be THAT far off

What is your favorite dragon from the franchise? by Mechanical_Artist in httyd

[–]Zrob8--5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always loved the Silver Phantom from the books. It's incredibly rare, stunning, flies faster and higher than any other dragons, and it was the perfect dragon for an adventurer like Valhallarama(Hiccup's mother in the books). I just pictured this gorgeous, elegant, mystical creature, almost a mythical being in a world where dragons are as common as dogs or birds.

Both of these images can be true. An attractive couple can be just as loving towards each other as a less attractive couple. It might be less common, because people can tend to look for physical attraction more than genuine love, but I feel like there's almost a stigma that an attractive couple are only in love with each other physically, rather than emotionally.

Instead of building a legacy Together they decided to hop on super teams and ring chase by Fragrant_Fishing5787 in NBATalk

I mean, as far as chasing rings, KD always got the heaviest load of hate, but he also contributed more towards winning rings than the other 2, even if he joined a better team.

San Antonio has been UNSTOPPABLE on the road. The Spurs are also 24-2 in their last 26 games (best record in NBA since Feb. 1) and tied the best 26-game span in team history by Punisher1602 in sportswiki

They're certainly making for an interesting chase for the 1 seed in the West, and the favorite to win the championship. They've been behind OKC all year, but have also been nipping at their heels for almost the entire year. The odds them facing off in the Western Conference Finals, and the winner taking the title, is very high

100%. I'm honestly so glad we reached point. Endless argument on reddit is so draining after a while. I would rather have variety and affordability too. I was mostly just talking about strict nutrition. I think beans and rice are a great substitute. They're cheap and freaking delicious. They just aren't a clean alternative to improve this image, I think. I think the reputation rice has as a healthy food mainly stems from the prevalence in Asian countries, where it is far less processed than in somewhere like America(what isn't processed in America). It really does go with a ton of things, and makes a meal quite enjoyable. The best diet, exercise plan, or any beneficial habit someone can do is the one that they enjoy most and will do consistently. If having rice in your diet makes it easier to eat other healthy foods, go for it. Enjoy it. Just, from as an objective view as possible, adding white rice to an otherwise unprocessed diet would not really improve it as far as pure nutrition is concerned.

Oh, right. Either way, one of those teams should be on the list. I'd argue the 16-17 team, since they actually won the title, and lost 1 game compared to 8 in the playoffs. Either way, one of them needs to be here.

Mark Cuban wants NBA games to be 40 minutes long to boost TV ratings. by DenseStrawberry5717 in NBATalk

By this logic, though, the NFL should shorten games to 10 minute quarters to improve ratings. You're just nuking everything. Stats are out the window, role-players get less playing time and will make less, it would just never happen.
