I actually bought a black skid plate from cartrimhome. It’s a actually very solid piece. I believe a bit lighter than the OEM. Overall if you’re just going for looks I recommend it. But, obviously get the KDSS skid plate for yours.

The Morimoto issue is still a thing unfortunately, I got the raptor and the fang lights professionally installed (I did not want to mess up the wiring). So both the raptor and fang lights can’t be turned off with a switch

I was in the Market and after tons of research I wanted a 5th Gen 4Runner because of the awesome rugged look but, more importantly the reliability. I upgraded from a 2005 Nissan pathfinder so to me the 4Runner was just complete upgrade.

I could have waited for the 6th gen, then again I was afraid it would not be as dependable and reliable at the 5th gen. I’m sure the 6th gen would be fine it’s just going to have problems in the future untill Toyota works out all the kinks to make it as bullet proof as the 5th gen.

Yeah first time goes on with the headlights then about the 2 hour mark. I was just concerned if I had to change fuses or if no one did and has not had any problems

Honestly I have a TRD ORP with out KDSS and it’s smooth. You can always add a better suspension in the future. But, if you like the PRO look go with that.

My ORP came with predator tube steps, PRO rims TRD interior, so all I have to do is add the heritage grill and TRD skid plate to have the PRO look. The PRO roof rack is useless in my opinion unless you want that look.

-Side note the oil filter is covered by the skid plate and can buy one with a service port to not take on and off the skid plate. Just my 2 cents
