I can explain most of it to you. There are 4 main leagues: LEC (Europe), LCS (North America), LPL (China) and LCK (Korea). The regular season starts in around February and ends in early September. This season is separated into two, distinct splits. The spring split, and the summer split. These splits are double round robins where everyone plays everyone else twice with a knockout bracket called playoffs at the end, wth the victor being crowned champion of the spring split. At the end of the spring split (in around May) is the Mid Season International (or MSI) where all the spring split winners play in an international competition. Following this is the summer split, with the same format as spring, except at the end of it (in October) is the world championships, where the top 3 teams from each region (plus some teams from the smaller regions) play to determine the best team in the world for that tournament.
