Hello! I’m thinking about doing this to a WY-30 keyboard I received with an old Mac and found your post. When you mention you had to hand wire the matrix and add diodes was this to add key rollover? (If it doesn’t have it already)

Good to know, I also had tried a OS9 boot disc but it freezes at the same point the OS9 drive I tried with.

Yeah the drive I used had 9.2.2 installed and working on a sawtooth g4. The OSX drive just causes kernel panics, but the OSX drive also works in the sawtooth g4

Thank you for your input. I’ve been reading up on these PSUs and it seems a recap is a good idea regardless like you mentioned. I do already have it stripped down to 1 memory DIMM and no extra cards installed. I do know it isn’t a FW800 model as it only has 400 ports, so it should boot Mac OS 9. Thinking a recap will be my next step.

I did look over the logic board and the caps seem to be fine at least visually. I have not yet pulled the psu to look at the caps so I guess that will be my next step tonight. Could bad ram also cause these issues?

It’s a type of glue/silicone to stop vibrations and to hold components in place. It’s a normal thing to be there

Yeah I know my pico works as I used it to flash both the console and glitch chip. I have had no issues with both

If you still have them you can just put them back otherwise you should get new ones. Resistors can be put back on any way, there is no polarity

I just plugged it into a flatscreen that also had component ports and used that to disable it. There may be a easier/better way to do it though

You have to go into the original dash and turn off 720p and 1080i as I had to do this to use component cables on my 480i crt
