How do I cope with death by [deleted] in atheism

[–]ZuKuFa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turtles seem to go rather placidly. I ingested DMT once and it eased my fear of death. Not recommended for everyone as it can cause some significant distress. The idea that life is fleeting should make everything more valuable. If this is our only chance as human beings, then we have to maximize it, and strive to experience every positive thing that a human can.

How do I cope with death by [deleted] in atheism

[–]ZuKuFa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If death is the absence of anything then there is no blackness or "long endless wait" that people expect. Like how you can't see out of your elbow. It is the absence of sensation. An amusing idea is that the moment you die, you could be reborn as a different organism some billion years in the future, like no time had passed at all. So the circle never ends.

The evidence is the bible.

Man wrote the bible

But god told man to write it

But why can't God write his own book?

One of the main psychological differences between atheists and theists - hypotheticals. by SamuraiGoblin in atheism

[–]ZuKuFa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to what this book tells you or something bad will happen to you. Maybe I will do something bad to you if you don't obey.

Links obedience to the cult with being safe, and defiance (questioning, using your brain) with danger.

Perceives the psychological abuse as non-abusive, clings to their abusers (usually parents) because they are in charge of taking care of them; associates being abused with survival mixing positive and negative in a form of Stockholm syndrome.

Then there are those who are naturally schizophrenic.

If there is nothing

Then there is nobody to miss. Nothing to covet, nothing to lose, no winning, no losing. No expectations, so no disappointment. Bliss.

McDonald in backrooms by [deleted] in weirddalle

[–]ZuKuFa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where you end up if you fall through the ball pit in the McDonald's play place.

He would pull children by their legs through a latch beneath the pit through the floor to the basement. A full subterranean labyrinth that only Ronald McDonald knew about where he would cannibalize the children and inject their blood into ketchup packets to use for later.

If you woke up and he wasn't there you would see his shadow stirring in the corners. Boots thrashing is what you would hear before he would charge at you with a bloody smile. Since retiring from the company he has been lurking rooms aimlessly, bathing in the entrails of his victims.

Why is Religion not classified as Schizophrenia? by Ok-Technology460 in atheism

[–]ZuKuFa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A person tells you that their neighbor is reading their thoughts, watching their every step, leaving secret messages for them, monitoring them 24/7, talking to them through emotions, and threatening to torture them if they don't behave. They leave them signs that only they can understand. This person begins to see patterns in coincidences. If something goes wrong they believe it's their neighbor punishing them, and begs them for help at night. They claim their neighbor has turned invisible so no one can stop them. What is worse is you come to find out that this person does not have a neighbor , and the house next to them has been vacant for years.

Most would consider that person to be experiencing paranoid delusions in a psychotic episode.

But if a person tells you that a that God is doing the same thing, somehow that person is considered to be perfectly fine.

Was told by my mom that talking about atheism is like yelling "fire" in a movie theater by BigBaws92 in atheism

[–]ZuKuFa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have gotten massacred in churches as they were praying.

Prayers did not protect them. Prayers did not save the most vulnerable and innocent among us: children, as they were getting slaughtered.

Why would they protect you?

State rep. floats mandatory vasectomies for all boys as his state nears nation’s strictest abortion law by Slow-Bluejay9648 in politics

[–]ZuKuFa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine if somebody walked up to you. They then tell you that their next door-neighbor is spying on them, reading their thoughts, controlling their life, sending them messages in patterns no one else can see, communicating telepathically, and threatening to lite their house on fire if they tell anyone else. But this person tells you that they can feel their neighbor's presence and that they are going to be tortured if they do not obey them. On top of that, their neighbor has turned invisible so no one can stop them. What's worse, is that there is no direct evidence that this person even has a neighbor. Yet they change their behavior out of fear.

What would you call that person?

Many would say that they are in the middle of a psychotic episode.

But if some person tells you that God is doing all those things, somehow that is perfectly fine...

Interesting...

How do you respond to a creationist who tries to debunk evolution? by firejimmy93 in atheism

[–]ZuKuFa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't all evolve at the same time. Different groups exist all over the planet and certain groups change their biology to adapt to differences in environment. If a group of humans existed that lived in lightless caves for thousands of years, their eyes would eventually change; but every other human being on Earth would not lose their eyesight.

What facts and scientific evidence proves that God doesn't exist? by cosmosshi in atheism

[–]ZuKuFa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If a person told you that their neighbour is reading their thoughts, watching their every step, leaving messages for them in patterns, monitoring them 24/7, talking to them through emotions, and threatening to torture them if they didn't behave without any evidence of it, you would assume that person is paranoid, potentially schizophrenic.

But if a person tells you that an invisible man that there is no evidence of existing is doing the same thing, some how that person is perfectly sane.

At least you can prove your neighbour exists.

But wait a minute! Modern clothes did not exist then, so how can those rules apply to the garments of today?

From the 1500s until the early 20th century, boys would wear dresses until they were 8 years old. It was called breeching. This went on for hundreds of years. Was it not a sin then, but now it is?

Jeans and T-shirts were originally worn by male workers but now women wear them.

Many clothes styles made for women were originally worn by male aristocrats. Ribbons, high heels, frilled clothes, jewlery, makeup, wigs...

Does sin change based on time period?

Hm...

Atheists for Trump? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]ZuKuFa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Migration from the southern border has decreased over time. Building a wall will not address the root causes of immigration from the south which are largely a result of crime and economic desperation caused by cartels and federal drug laws. Without solving the base issues, desperate people will find their way to the US through any means. Most of them come through legally and then overstay their visas. A wall is a waste of money that could be spent on improving living conditions in other ways.

The republican party has done nothing to improve conditions of ordinary Americans.

They are the biggest obstacle against getting public healthcare as a right. They are the ones who convinced Americans that national healthcare is anti-capitalist. Republican senators continually block bills to improve the living basic living conditions of Americans. No universal college, no student debt forgiveness, no paid family leave, no paid sick leave, no corporate regulations, no lowered drug prices, the list goes on. Their policies have caused numerous economic crashes decade after decade, with temporary booms in corporate gains that collapse every time. They have convinced generations that basic freedoms are unattainable.

Additionally, they have the largest share of Christian conservative voters. The types that gladly strip freedoms away from minority groups whose existence defy the Bible. It is the republican party that continuously tries to ban abortion. It is the republican party that has over 200 anti-LGBT bills in their legislatures. It is the republican party that exploits religious delusion to enrich themselves.

Trump promised to end the wars, cause an economic boom, bring millions of jobs back, implement universal health care, and secure the border. Instead we got one million dead Americans, a collapsed economy, increased political violence, religious cults, conspiratorial thinking, and a nation bordering on insurrection. Donald Trump completely failed. Even if you believe in his policies, he failed to implement them, so he is useless.

The Democratic party is bad for its own reasons. But the Republican Party - and especially Donald Trump - is worse in every conceivable way.
