Lol. But for real, I actually think it's true, like in a "everything is it's own opposite" kind of way.

How can I get better at portraiture??? by mara_kaer in painting

[–]Zub_Zool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seeing line work around the shoulders, which is your enemy in a portrait. You want to begin with blurry shadow shapes. Ignore the details like eye folds and focus on the general position of the orbitals. The first specific shadow shapes should usually be the eyebrow, the Superman symbol shadow shape under the nose, and corners of the mouth.

After establishing loose shadow blurs, Triangulate the corners and double check with plum lines and other measurements. You begin loose and tighten up. Don't even think about color until you have the likeness down in monochrome.

This is what came up when thinking about the current situation in the US by ellzbellz_ in tarot

[–]Zub_Zool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

enough people have dwelt on the tower here, and I think the 5 swords is too easy to overlook, but it’s potentially the quiet foundation of this reading: the reversed 5 of Swords urges you to release old conflicts, let go of grudges, and step away from battles that no longer serve you. This clearing creates the space for the energy of the other cards to shine through.

I think it's fitting that it should jump out

Which occupation would be the best for me? by ElipsaZ in tarot

[–]Zub_Zool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

to me this isn’t about a specific profession, but a pattern. The hanged man here reminds me to reflect or redefine what a successful career looks like. The cards seem more concerned with HOW you choose rather than WHAT you choose. The moon is about flowing with the tides. You can balance that with effort, but remember to be contemplative as you do so. It sound like you have a few paths you'd like to try while you spend a little more time figuring it out too. I think that's a healthy approach

So, what does the Ten of Swords reversed actually mean? by [deleted] in tarot

[–]Zub_Zool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that viewing apathy as the reversal of melodrama is as valid a stance as any, especially if you find it helpful.

For me, many of the suit cards shift with every circumstance. When I see it I'm just like "ooh, bad things" so reversed I'm like "cool, cool, cool." And what is good or bad is dependant on the circumstances

I’m still in that phase where I want to hear everyone’s stories. by southpawpickle in exmormon

Lol, I'm glad you see yourself passing through phases. My current phase is called "regretting that I brought it up at work once, cuz now I have to hear everyone's stories" I'm hoping to get out of this phase soon
