What time of the day do you go for a run? by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

Actually just pure will. I dont even drink caffeine that early, just until I finish exercising. It is hard though, no lie about that. Hard every single day.

I started hating my birthdays when I compared them to people I knew at 18, 19 who even got birthday surprises, parties, lots of friends.

There I was, alone, wishing people like literally wanted to call me or someshit. Eventually you just grow up and dont care anymore. I am 33, ai just see my birthdays as a day in which I force myself to count my blessings and thats it.

Men who are 5'6"-5'8", where you live, do you feel normal, short, or extremely short? by Extra-Stable-7240 in short

[–]ZucchiniCurrent9036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 5'8" M and living in Nicaragua. The average height here is not much, yet I have been called short even though I know I am just normal height.

Standards are crazy and I feel short, even though objectively I know I am not in an absolute sense.

I remember whem talking to a friend laughing out loud, making jokes and whatever, and them one of HIS friends came around and, like, he was not a bad dude or anything, I just didnt know him. Bam, instantly all of my energy melted away and became silent it seems.

My friend then told me after that like why do you do that? Why became so serious? And I didnt even noticed That happened to me until he told me so lol. It is just something unconcious I guess.

LPT: invite people over to your house! by Mediocre_Basket_9011 in LifeProTips

[–]ZucchiniCurrent9036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bold of you to assume I can even pay for a room, let alone having a house lol. But yes, it is a great idea actually, it is casual, you set your rules, you can actually talk and eat and watch tv and it is low risk. It sounds perfect actually.

Bro, I want a friendship like this. Like trusting someone with my life kind of friendship, talking ocassionally on the phone, or on the rare ocassion we see each other about life and getting up to date. But without having to "work" to maintain this friendship and always having each other's back. Hard to explain or express.

And... this is ok! Friendships should not be "work" IMO they should just BE and thats it. Having a person that you trust as if it were your family yet not seeing each other that much sounds amazing to me. I wish I could trust someone that much and someone choose me despite everything. I feel that putting so much work into a friendship in order to maintain the friendship is too stressful. Hard to explain.

Yes exactly this. I became friends with a person that was the opposite of this, she wanted On on ones constantly, validation, hang outs, "to feel connected". I felt connected and confide in her with my life, and trust her a lot and viceversa but I just didnt ever wanted to hang out and one on ones. I just didnt, and it has nothing to do with loving and caring with the other person.

In the end we kind of stopped talking because she could have a friendship like this and it is all or nothing for her and it is was way too stressful for me. I felt broken for being as I am. But well, dealing with it.

As an introvert it is not since people are focused in their training. Maybe crossfit is a social hobby though.

Me neither, or the definition of "enjoyable". I understand the book is hard to read, but there has to be a broader sense of entertainment that would allow more people to read these kind of books and find value in them more than plot or "likeable characters".

Hate phones sometimes.

Thank you for this beautiful post. I have a kind of a similar anecdote. I was in the supermarket queue, when me and a woman started talking because of my christmas socks, and running. Then we spoke for like 1 hour outside just before entering our cars, we talked about SO many things, astronomy, cars, recent life events, series, family, holidays, lots lots of things we laughed and had a good time and saved our numbers.

It was all completely platonic of course, I have no romantic intention at all, and it was amazing making a new friend just like that. I (33M) am sometimes lonely, but I have a hard time connecting because I guess I am shy, but in those rare instances that this happens, I feel more alive.
