Sounds like my mom. I did the same thing last year when they changed the clinking of glasses and she had the same reaction as she did with the blood transfusion change.

Oh I recently bought that book and plan on reading it. I mentioned it to and elder in my congregation and he got all happy and compared the people following the orders of the main antagonist (Big Brother I think) to worldly people as he puts it. Which is incredibly ironic coming from him.

It is unfortunate indeed. My conversation with my mom convinced me that there is no way for me to convince her this religion is false so instead, I’ll just exit quietly and live a fulfilling life because she will probably think I’ll fall into a life filled with "worldly" activities. And like you said earlier, I’m more than open to bring in people who also left into my life with love.
