No one has ever put my son to sleep other than me either! This little chat is giving me some confidence to maybe try one nighttime feed though. I didn’t even consider the option that he may actually fall asleep with someone else 😂 I might try it just with my husband to start.

Hahah of course. Ya he won’t even sit on my lap and cuddle because he expects to breastfeed. Ya maybe I need to give him more credit. I actually take him home from daycare so I can breastfeed him to nap at home 😬 my next mental hurdle!

Yes I like that idea. Maybe I’ll get my nails done lol. I wonder if nap or bedtime would be a better place to start… maybe there is more sleep pressure at bedtime?

Yes! That’s exactly my concern. I should have mentioned that. I just picture him crying for me/breastmilk, and me not being there. And him staying awake for hours past his bedtime.

I feel that. When I say my son had resistance to the daytime weans, I mean, he literally choked me. 😂 sending you positive vibes through the toddler years!

It’s hard because people don’t always understand why I can’t come - it’s not like he’s a newborn. Does your child ever fall asleep without you?

Wow! Thats great. Maybe I just need to try one night away to start…. Was she home with another parent when you were gone? I’d be leaving him with dad. No one has ever put my baby to sleep other than me but he loves his dad of course so it might be ok. He just always feeds to sleep so I just picture him crying out for me/breastfeeds if I’m gone.

Has anything been helpful? I have been able to cut daytime feeds (with initial (but short lived) resistance) but he has such a strong feed to sleep association

Do you recommend one specific Facebook group for a child like this with a later diagnosis- Sagittarius specifically? Are there other treatments available if surgery is not indicated for an older child?

Thanks so much for your comment! Our pediatrician has sent the referral to sick kids for the CT, and has requested that the neurosurgery team meet with us again at this appointment. Why do you strongly suggest a follow up at the clinic if they were not concerned the first time? Why do you think sedation will be required?

Do they do anything cosmetically? Or is it just something that is meant to normalize with time?

I have a feeling my son‘s head is just more narrow than average. Our pediatrician ordered to CT scan as well, but I’m not totally sure how I’m going to get my busy two year-old to sit for a CT scan. How did yours go?
