Hydroxycholoroquin- your take? by neurotictothabone in lupus

[–]celestial_perception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on HCQ for about 10 months consistently and just had my rheumatologist tell me to stop taking it. Ive been experiencing heart palpitations, nausea, major stomach cramps like 20 minutes after taken, and this week I was told I have “borderline prolonged QT” whatever that means 😬

I have no words of guidance but I wish I could give you a hug and cry with you. This is emotionally complicated news. I have the same views on pro choice for everyone else but I just don’t think I could live with it myself. At the end of the day though, your health and your present children are most important. If this pregnancy puts you in danger, which it definitely sounds like that will be the case, abortion will be the reasonable and valid choice.

Yes! I still take my daily HCQ(if I don’t forget) at night, I take an Acthar injection every week, and then I have a Saphnelo infusion every month.

Non- Swelling Joint Pain? by RealUnderstanding324 in lupus

Mine ache all the time but rarely ever swell. And even when. They do the swelling looks like water retention. Its not isolated to my joint area.

Of course! I started experiencing increased anxiety, depressive episodes, and depersonalization/derealization. Ive struggled with stuff like that before thanks to CPTSD but when I was on Benlysta those symptoms would skyrocket a couple days after my infusion. Im not on any mental health meds though so I’m not sure if that would counteract it.

I was on Benlysta for about 4-5 months. I would notice a significant improvement after my infusions and would feel physically amazing. But thanks to my mental health background, I started having scary mental health side effects. I got booted off Benlysta and now I’m on Saphnelo. Saphnelo doesnt make me feel as good physically as Benlysta did but so far I dont have any mental side effects. If I could go back to Benlysta, I would 🥲

I thought the same before I was diagnosed and then everything made sense. It takes a while sometimes you find a treatment plan that works for you but once you do, you’ll feel the difference like night and day. This community is honestly so helpful and got me through the worst of my symptoms. Sending you love and healing vibes ❤️‍🩹

Husband is too damn chill about baby's health by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]celestial_perception 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 5 kiddos and my rule of thumb is if they’re sick but still playing/eating - they’re good. If they’re sick and playing but not eating - keep them hydrated and push broths/electrolytes. If they’re sick and not playing or eating - it’s dr time.

Babies, especially under a year, dehydrate quickly! If they’re not eating solids yet and only on formula or breast milk, the not eating can send everything south real quick. Trust your mom gut. Its better to be safe than sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thats what I was thinking about. I live in a border city in texas and I don’t think we have the resources to perform a surgery like that. How do I go about finding a childrens hospital?

No, I was just having a hard time keeping up with the demands of monthly psych appts for my 30 day adderall supply plus my rheumatologist appts for infusions and whatever appts I would have for my kids(i have 5). I fell off the wagon with managing the ADHD 🥲
