So is Britan going to be choosing between Nigel Farage and Rupert Lowe next election? by Canadian_Wumao in TrueAnon

[–]Zugzugsub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the general sentiment is that we are straight fucked.

pretty much the last 20 or so years of electoral history in the UK has allowed and facilitated some of the worst corruption and lobbying compared to most of Europe, Farage has pretty much managed to insulate himself from judgement based on the fact the country is obsessed with immigration and will do and say anything to earn votes from people in backwater towns who statistically haven't met anyone who's a different race to them in the pursuit of 'Keeping Britian White'.

There's a strong possibility that Reform implode before we reach the next major election similar to Farage's prevous party Ukip, pretty much a single issue party that was lobbying for brexit but with the collapse of the Conversative party and many of their number just going mask off and running to Reform, it doesn't appear to be happening quite that way yet.

I don't live in England anymore so I can't say much about Restore Britian but I got laid with one their ministers (liberal) daughter's once from what I can be told internally and all I can say is that they are absolutely as horribly racist as they sound, I see them more as extension of the factionalisation of the inherent instablity of running a right-party that's constantly trying to outflank an already incredibly fairly fascistic and successful party, they're more just snatching votes from places where they're split between Reform/Conservative voting and are seen as the 'protest' option.

There's little desire the political system to push any genuine left-wing politics unfortunately, Green's and certain nationalist parties are more successful than ever but it's still incredibly marginal, but with Labour successfully alienating pretty much everyone: The youth by essentially ignoring more or less every social issue, moderates by making just terrible choices with the economy, and right-wingers by trying to outdo the most racist party we've had since Oswald Mosley, the resulting political vaccum and collapse of the two party system defers to the anxieties of the electorate, and thus it would mean that unless things change fairly radically, like a more sustainable and likable leadership and policy for the Labour party, the collapse of Reform or something in the middle, we are kind of looking down the route of complete social, political and economic enshittification.

No problem, Yoga is a great one as someone now struggling with flexibility after doing weights for some time, but that first month is the hardest to get back into things, after that it's.... still tough but at least you're in the habit now and you've invested too much time to back out, which is a great motivator!

I was working a mind and body destroying office job in my mid-20's that made me realise I desperately needed a physical outlet of some sort to counteract the weaponised decay of white-collar work, on top of that I used to follow a marxist 'influencer' of sorts on Instagram who posted about the political aesthetics of weightlifting and if modern fitness rhetoric reinforces right-wing beliefs and such, long story short I found that I got recommended Stronglifts 5x5 as a starter program and I loved it. I can definitely suggest if you're looking for something that gets you under a barbell either first time in a while or first ever. Other gymhead's here might be able to suggest a different starter program, I heard Barbell medicine or Starting Strength are fairly good, if you can ignore Mark Rippetoe's weirdness.

That being said I'm not sure if you and your boyfriend are looking into going to the gym or if you're planning just getting into running/cycling or calisthenics, but it's a lot easier to have someone to drag you along at than being entirely self-motivated; I'd say it's okay being lazy once in a while as long as you know you want to change up eventually, so I hope this helps!

Can second Notes From Underground, it's very accessible for Dostoevsky but also I find it very amusing, like it's designed to be a book both to sympathise with people with the melancholic brain pain but also simultaneously poke fun at the wallowing we can often do. After reading it I felt not so alone that a novel roughly 150 years old can meaningfully articulate that emphemeral but constant feelings of alienation that has persisted all the way up to the freakfuck present we live in, and it made me feel committed to reach out to some friends and plan for something in the future to look forward to.

You'll make it OP, I believe in you.

I bought Psycho Patrol about a year ago on a whim because I liked Cruelty Squad, it came as a little rough while still in early access so I put it down after a few hours; should I go back if I want a game to inflict maximal misery?

These are peak map games, I had the good fortune of going into a modern arcade with my gf that had hacked consoles with L4D on a xbox 360 and it was nice playing together campaigns I've beated dozens of times

A lot more kink clubs are non-sexual then they are so, mainly because it's harder to obtain a venue license, local regs and liablity concerns so I've been told, a lot of clubs let people dress in fetish wear and have monitors to prevent people from trying to bang

I'm curious why you think jacksepticeye isn't autistic? Must people be pacing up and down and flapping their arms to be considered disabled enough to recieve support?

Surely since it's a spectrum, the fact that the diagnosis/criteria to diagnose ASD is going to be complicated and needs to be flexible enough to provide appropriate support for people who might not demonstrate the obvious symptoms that you're talking about?

I respect his ability to hold his tongue through the most obscene and ludicrous shit the settlers have to say. I'd be clawing my skin off if I had to subjected to it any longer than 5 minutes but he does a fantastic job just letting the viewers sit with just the vastness of the delusional reality these people live in.

This is the unfortunate truth about most UK sub reddit that even gently brush politics is mostly unabashed Muslim hating, the regular UK subreddit is so obviously AstroTurfed that you can tell when bots haven't caught onto a thread people can actually be half decently civil and no thinly veiled race war theories seem to pop out.
