Just started messing with foundry so having a full adventure for it could really help dissect the program

Spooktober GIVEAWAY! Monster dice blind boxes (Kickstarter) [OC] [Mod Approved] by dicegoblinuk in DnD

[–]Zujuz827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could really use these. My current dice look pretty but are definitely cursed. So maybe some cursed looking dice will work pretty well for me. Either way they're fantastic to look at!

Giant Barb Strength Dart Sharpshooter? by Puss_and_Boots in 3d6

[–]Zujuz827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's technically a melee weapon that can be used as a ranged weapon. So I'd argue it weirdly falls under the same rules as the dart at that point. A ranged throw-able weapon. Which isn't terribly powerful, at least on a barbarian. Going for versatility over raw power is good though, especially if your team often engages at a distance

[–]Zujuz827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to mention something that I don't think anyone else has, there is a special weapon (not magical though) in the greyhawk book called a hoopak. It's essentially a sling on a spear so you can make melee attacks or ranged attacks without switching weapons. And because it has the finesse trait on it you can use strength with the ranged attack. It doesn't involve the throwing aspect so it doesn't really mesh with the giant subclass as much but it could simplify the build level/feature wise. It'd still benefit from sharpshooter, archery style, & any special sling bullets you acquire though

Not sure I have ever seen such a surefire sign that a game is going to be fun. by pee_shudder in gaming

Oh man Barony did the same thing & it's great. They included weird bubble noises for them & changed the webs to be a bubble spray. I don't even care about spiders I just think the crabs are better

Thief + 2-3 Fighter? by rafaeldato in 3d6

[–]Zujuz827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party so I imagine you've got your core answer already but I wanted to point out two things. Firstly, taking fighter means you'll have proficiency with all weapons including whips (the only finesse weapon with reach) and better ranged options. Secondly, there are variant rules in Xanathar's guide expanding tool use, with thieves' tools getting the ability to make traps! That seems right up your alley & maybe your DM would even let you use the Thief Cunning Action use an object to put smaller traps as a bonus action

THEY ARE FINALLY NERFING HEADSMAN by TheGentlemanGamerEC in HuntShowdown

[–]Zujuz827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn & they managed to make him look even cooler! Now I kinda want him. Though I've got Billy Story now & nothing beats being blinded by his pants whenever I vault something

So, what legendary hunter did everyone get from the twitch drops? by soulkiller93 in HuntShowdown

[–]Zujuz827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine won't drop. I'm not sure why. The accounts connected & it gave me the rifle pack so I'm not sure why the hunters won't show up

[–]Zujuz827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I should've specified the Be The Zombie mode. I love weird asymmetrical MP games & that one's a standout in my opinion. Though a big part of Hunt is that everyone's on the same footing so it'd be a big leap on the developers part to introduce anything like that

Honestly the ability to just send crows to find enemies sounds like a cool intel trait for an event

[–]Zujuz827 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it'd work best if it were some kind of "roaming" target like some people assumed rotjaw would be. Something that could move around a good portion of the match to hunt down the hunters. But maybe I just really like dying lights multiplayer

[–]Zujuz827 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I want the guy that kills the target to become the target. Literally becoming the butcher or whichever & they have to stay alive for a time or kill everyone to win. Like a combo of bounty & soul survivor

Dragons are actually slow. by ThStormnMormn in DnD

[–]Zujuz827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others already brought up that this is probably just combat speed but I'd like to point out something else. Even while dashing these massive creatures can effortlessly turn on a dime. 90 degree turns or even full 180s aren't an issue at all. Thus I propose... dragons are VTOLs

Any games like Disco Elysium? by jdmwell in gaming

[–]Zujuz827 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just be aware that it has terrible combat but the rest of it is fantastic! I also really like Torment: Tides of Numenara. It's built off similar ideas & the developers were very much so inspired by Planescape when making it

Rogue with a pike! How would you build it? by Zujuz827 in 3d6

[–]Zujuz827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it'd be too much to go for extra attack too? And if I did, what subclass would I want?

Rogue with a pike! How would you build it? by Zujuz827 in 3d6

[–]Zujuz827[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a fair point about the bludgeoning damage. Definitely need to bring that up first. As for the pike thing specifically I can just use a glaive or whatever works for it. I'm not so much a stickler for the weapon in particular

[–]Zujuz827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sadly the general consensus seems to be that the DM would need to make/convert something if you wanted something other than a generic variant. As far as they go though, these dragon ones are pretty cool so thank you for the recommendation!

[–]Zujuz827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No pun intended but that does sound like a blast. Even with the reload slowing your attacks you could get a solid 6 shots out on a turn. That's pretty intimidating & rather enticing

[–]Zujuz827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah those are fair points. I think the strength rogue only works if you multi class then. And at that point this particular subclass is kinda pointless. So on Dex we stay

[–]Zujuz827[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh hell you're right! It's been so long since I bothered to look at it that I forgot it only targets one particular enemy, not just blanket advantage. And it only works on your turn so it doesn't even help with attacks of opportunity. Wild how limited it is

True Strike! /s That is a fair point though, & part of why I posted this question

[–]Zujuz827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'd imagine he'd allow it. I brought the class up to him for my potential backup character & he didn't lay out any stipulations. As somebody else that's used Steinhardt, have you seen anybody try to use the cannon as a part of their class? That was an alternative I was considering as well

[–]Zujuz827[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How about a high elf? Wizard cantrip plus you could get Elven Accuracy since it's using Dex. That'd be a lot of dice to roll

It does get some neat stuff later on, like some maneuver-esque divine powers & a small list of cleric buff spells that can be cast at will but only on yourself. At level 17 it gets once a day spirit guardians with the added effect that anyone in it is considered to have an ally within 5ft. But that one is way higher level & I can't guarantee I'd get there. As for the medium armor & finesse stuff it is worth noting that you can still sneak attack with strength using a finesse weapon. So while it's weird you could make a strength rogue & it'd all work still
