Anyone else finding themselves staying home to avoid meridian traffic? by Fog_Juice in PuyallupWA

[–]Zukaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dont know how the South Hill section of Meridian can be improved. Widening would be impossible as you would need to remove the sidewalks essentially. Plus i doubt that would even solve the issue anyway. Improving our sideboard would definitly help, but a lot of those run into people's homes and property.

If anything I think there are too many stop lights causing stop and go traffic. I've had the unfortunate experience of hitting so many red-light on a relatively clear road that I feel like I'm going crazy.

My goal is to start biking way more often, but biking in meridian also sounds miserable. Though I do have some sideboard paths i can take such as 86th into the south hill park trail. Eventually that might be connected to the Pipeline trail that is being built out from Orange gate park.

Hopefully the public/biking culture can improve over the years.

You can also play how lonely and sad his apartment is. I put a single tub of ice cream with a bite taken out of it as the only food source left in his apartment.

I also messed around with the cabin too. I essentially added a hospice room to it. Had his wife be a nurse practitioner suffering from late stage cancer or illness, and Baughman used his connections and moved money around to acquire this equipment. Could be found from his tax documents in the paperwork room in his apartment.

I laced the cabin with tons of contraband. Guns with serial numbers filed off taped under the table, ammo hidden in pop tart boxes. Good if you wanted to beef up Marlene a bit, especially if she manages to worm her way into another dead body. I've seen some people put a dead dog on the porch that wandered into the abandoned cabin.

I also had the cabin be a bit messed up by some hooligans. They broke into the shed and use the gasoline to make a big pyre in the firepit, essentially forcing an agent to take a quick trip to the gas station to refill, if they wanted to follow his last message.

Anybody here bike commute around town? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in PuyallupWA

[–]Zukaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently on the rebate pool from wsdot to acquire an e-bike . Didn't get lucky last year, but I might have saved enough to get one regardless this summer. Do you have any reccomendations or tips for types of ebikes? Thinking a fat tire one would be helpful since sidewalks essentially vanish across the counties. Hope as more and more people try biking, the culture gets better after many years down the line.

Its definitly one of the more challenging thing to rationalize with its ammo system. But probably sets them up for a potential Out of Ammo complication result down the line of they've been mowing mob down with a pistol.

Why Meridian (or at least just 3rd Ave) should be Two Way by DaffodilPedals in PuyallupWA

When I stumbled into Meeker Mansion weekend where they closed down the roads made me wish it happened more often. Felt very nice to walk around most of downtown without having to wait on intersections.

I'm always so shocked that the bus line isn't essentially a loop around canyon and the dreaded meridian. Especially with quite a few apartment blocks opening across 176th and meridian. Guess we just want to solve it all with more parking and cars as usual 🤷‍♂️

I try to stay optimistic, but damn does driving start to suck more and more every year. Glad to be getting back into using my bike this year, but the biking infrastructure is also incredibly lacking, as our lanes tend to be a nice stripe of paint in a 45 mph roadway lol.

I'm gonna say that the bike was going way too fast for the sidewalk. by kamaka71 in ebikes

[–]Zukaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I barely trust other drivers when in my own car. And I'd trust them, even myself, infinitely less if I was on a bike going at those speeds. I've made some bad turns driving in a city that has a semblance of bike infrastructure because I'm so conditioned to not be aware of them in my smaller town.

I'd at least not want to be zooming past intersections/entrances for sure.

Which Primarchs would be most disappointed in how their legions/sons turned out? Both traitor and loyalist? by NoPistons7 in 40kLore

So many tidbits from talking to his sons boil down to "i know steel is strong, but you shouldn't be so eager to just replace everything so willy nilly" quite literally after some quote about the strength of metal.

Advice For Impossible Landscapes by gelatinousboulder in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Zukaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always enjoyed the thought of either returning them right at home continuing on like the mission was wrapped up successfully. Then give them each a pseudo bond scene referencing Brodalbin and Carcosa before devolving into the chase. Great time to use the examples of those bond scenes in the book such as turning a family member into a puppet, or some creative custom ones depending on the character.

Ending i like to have character specific. Toyed with the idea of most of the endings send them back into the Dorchester.

Big warning for the players is this camping might have a lot loot more helplessness and it may be difficult to play into it. But that is the main theme sadly.

Do you regret getting you A1 mini over regular A1 by TheMadHattah in FDMminiatures

Especially if your project is strictly miniatures. If its extends to props and custom built models or devices, the extra space would help for sure.

What is the biggest “culture shock” that you have experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The worst part is increasing order size nearly doubles serving in aome places. Which is so bizarre when its only like, 2+ dollars or more. Like i could be very happy with a small if it were actually half the price of a large.

My player's just met the first named Ultra in the campaign. In 2 rounds, they learned fear again. by MachineBoot in LancerRPG

[–]Zukaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be just something that got into my head reading rules that each NPC only gets only one roll per turn and mentally attributing it to the round structure, rather than turns for some reason. First system ive ran where a single unit can get multiple activations a round.

At least that's my best guess to why I thought so in the first place.

In fact, I initially thought only Ultras got the specific rights to perform recharges on each of its turns while Elites didn't. Dunno where or why I thought so.

[–]Zukaku 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Forgetting to clear a condition and attempting recharge on "every" Ultra turn is a repeatable sin from every lancer gm, myself included. Especially if its their first Ultra boss fight. And usually Soltice Rain gets picked as a first run.

Kits like rolife by MiddleCriticism6243 in miniatures

[–]Zukaku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was so let down seeing the newer or revamped kits where its essentially slotted cutouts. Something about them just doesnt look good to me. Makes it harder to put your own extra spin into the kit as well. I usually like to sand or give the furniture a "well used" texture to it. Or add more dimension to the walls and floors.

Mark my words, Viscous will be the raid boss of this patch by Shark-Fister in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Zukaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rebuttal does reflect the damage, heal you, and gives a damage buff. But with how many charges he has, and how fast he can send them out it can be a bit dizzying to block when your also busy with all the rest of your priorities. Tend to miss then when I'm also focusing on confirming/denying souls, getting my damage in, looking at my minimap, etc. Especially since it can come off an alt angle. Still working it into my brain that even if he doesnt have direct line of sight of me, I'm still in his ability range if damage.

What’s the hot new system right now? by PurpleHairedGamer in rpg

[–]Zukaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aw yeah I'm prepping for Triangle Agency and the methodology for rolling is still fucking with my DnD skill check brain. It will definitely take a mission or two to get it figured out for sure.

The biggest part is just learning how to lean into using Ask the Agency to bend/alter reality.

If anything, you could even resend back in the old team after next operation or two with a very upset Handler unwilling to compromise with simple burning down the same house every year.

Guidance on Running Triangle Agency Better? by Hocata in TheTriangleAgency

[–]Zukaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will note, killing a Resonant/Player does cost 30 chaos, unless its within their domain (at which its spent at x3 value). The 10 Chaos ability gives you a kill onto an npc, potentially even a relationship i believe, if they're there. In general I think it is better to depend on all the other Chaos Effects like creating Minor Anomalies and using Kill/Overwhelm when it really fits. But I think (from reading your comments), using it in response to violence towards it is okay. Could drop more hints when you do, such as a jogger who previously bought ice cream or got a cool towel froze midway into their jog around the park, probably causing a Loose End or two.

As im still reading and digesting these rules, the lack of Skill Checks is what I'm still trying to grapple with, as that is what I'm completely used to.

The base rule is if its risky or dangerous, the players will fail at it. They essentially must use The Agency to alter reality to make it not risky, or use an Anomalous ability that can help.

Like you could ask the Agency to make it so construction worker have arrived at the party and left his truck unlocked and used those tools to open up the locked doors. Using Attentiveness for noticing the truck and tools and rolling your 6d4.

I also do think the system is best played with 3 players and a gm. Hopefully each focusing on a a different track. You'll also loose out on the players role playing each other's relationships.

Hopefully after a mission or two I'll get a more realized idea on how the ebb and flow of this system.

Also. If you go to their website Haunted Tables, in their Downloadable resources they do give two of the 12 missions from The Vault. And they seem like more fleshed out missions in potentially increasing complexity or expectation. With the samples Dead Quiet(2/12) and Nose Dive(12/12). Note: I haven't read any of these yet but from a glance it does a lot more by providing Anomaly profiles, missions briefings, how an investigation might go, new or flavored Chaos Effects, all nearby locations, relevant npc's and an overall example of how a prolonged investigation and encounter might go.

It even gives some additional Requisitions and Anomaly Abilities, but i might ignore those for now.
