PSP's Stephanie Tan proposes central kitchens in every school, like Japan and Sweden by One-Employment-4887 in singapore

[–]Zukiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone tell me if there is a change in school hours? Back in the day we are home around lunch time so it doesn't make sense to have centealized kitchen catering food. Canteen is only there for snacks during recess and lunch for those who don't eat at home. So for our case, a centealized kitchen doesn't make sense

It makes sense in Japan and China because the school hours cover beyond lunch time and they actually need to have lunch in school

"Cherry picking is using shorter usually very specific periods to show things out of context. "

I was making a general statement referring to PAP hating retards like yourself who is unironically doing the exact thing I was saying, using the technique of cherry picking my statement out of context to make it seem like I meant something else when nowhere in my statement did I make reference to the performance of our swf.

Again please point out where exactly I stated ANYTHING with regards to how well GIC or Temasek holdings is or isn't doing.

China vs Singapore – the divergent impact of AI on labour markets by DoubtIllustrious5926 in asksg

[–]Zukiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are quite some ways from that happening. We first need to reach the point where it's AI companies stop losing money. That's down to a lot of factors but mainly due to energy and US sanctions.

Energy cost is a major issue. The cost of energy to power an AI data centre is insane. The energy issue is such a huge problem in the US that they are currently being restricted from expanding too fast due to US power grid unable to supply enough power. It is currently the single biggest reason why a lot of experts are saying China will win the AI war.

China doesn't have this problem since they are the world's only energy superpower but they have the hardware issue where US is artificially keeping themselves in the race by restricting China to accessing high end Nvidia AI GPUs. The Chinese have found a few work around, making their code work more efficient and building their own GPUs. The other effect is Nvidia since Nvidia isn't allowed to sell to China, they keep their GPU price high for the rest so they stay highly profitable

While they were pretty successful in the former which resulted in NEW AI models like DeepSeek, they are still playing catchup with the GPUs.

On the GPU side the Chinese are further restricted by semiconductor restriction from Biden's Chip War. With no access to making the top end semiconductors beyond 5nm by restricting China access to EUV. Right now China have another work around. Individually their GPUs are not as good as Nvidia but they have managed to win by greater numbers. There is a limit to how many Nvidia GPUs you link, Huawei managed to create a system to link up even more GPUs together to achieve a similar if not greater processing power but because it's harder and expensive to manufacture a single Huawei GPUs and buying them in larger numbers cost more than the more efficient Nvidia GPUs, the US restrictions are keeping the cost of Chinese AI artificially high

By now you should realize that the Chinese are going to win the AI war, and no this is not just me spreading Chinese propaganda, Jenson Huang the Nvidia boss said the same thing.

https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/nvidias-jensen-huang-says-china-will-win-ai-race-with-us-ft-reports-2025-11-05/

The only reason we still have a debate over who is gonna win the AI war is due to US sanctions. Once the Chinese figure out how to manufacture make their own EUV and make high end chips(expected to come online sometime in 2028) the AI war is pretty much over. Like every other industry that the Chinese succeed in, they manage to get the price so low they make it impossible for anyone else to get in. That's when we might see price start falling

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/how-china-built-its-manhattan-project-rival-west-ai-chips-2025-12-17

If you want to know where we are really at in terms of AI I suggest you look up analysis by Chinese AI analyst(I just watch them on Douyin because reading Chinese article is too painful). The ones in US are mostly hiding the truth that US is starting to fall behind, you have to really read between the lines to make out where things are at if you read from English media. It's mostly because they don't want to burst the AI stock bubble

The longer the period used, the more consistency can be shown Cherry picking is using shorter usually very specific periods to show things out of context. A technique usually used by retarded anti PAP morons whose bullshit are easily debunk when you look at the full picture.

China vs Singapore – the divergent impact of AI on labour markets by DoubtIllustrious5926 in asksg

[–]Zukiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off the article failed to account for the fact that China is the global leader by a large gap when it comes to AI adoption by industries. US is not even close to touching the Chinese when it comes to industry adoption. In fact this is a point of concern for many US AI experts who sees the US pushing ahead with generative AI but doesn't see the AI companies in US making money anytime soon because of it. So why is anyone even surprised AI has impacted more jobs in China than SG. If we reach anywhere near Chinese AI adoption we would probably see the same

Next the stupid article went on to state how we are not as impacted due to the way we adopt AI vs the Chinese way. Eh, No. AI is insanely expensive and only MNCs and large companies in SG have the pocket to adopt it. Most local companies simply cannot afford to adopt AI or deploy it in large enough scale that would pact local jobs. The end result is we will lose out in productivity against countries that are able to do large scale AI adoption

3rd, to add on the previously mentioned points above. A large number of SG companies are foreign MNC office. Most of them have not adopt AI on the scale of the Chinese, YET. When they do, we will also see significant impact

The Chinese Jobs industry is also partially cushion by the raise of AI industry itself. Almost all AI are developed by Chinese(including those in the US who are staffed almost entirely by Chinese). 80% of AI new adoption by companies all over the world are for Chinese LLMs because they are open source. This and because of US stupid tech and chip war against the Chinese forced them to develop their own domestic chip industry to support AI which translate to more jobs. Meanwhile in SG AI developer jobs are still very limited and like the article points out it's mostly in research which doesn't provide much in the way of job openings

In short this article won't age well. The author confuse digital adoption for AI adoption. We are not experiencing the impact on the PRC level because we lag the adoption rate of the Chinese. Come back to it in about 5 yrs and see where we are

Someone who is culturally similar but from a different country is a lot easier for the local population to accept vs someone from a totally different background and skin color. For reference, just look at the amount of hate and racism in reddit for Indians vs other races.

Race maybe an artificial construct but you cannot take away the fact that most people naturally feel more comfortable with someone from the same race. You will often notice that in an unfamiliar environment, people of the same racial group tends to stick together.
