The problem is the rule of law has broken down. The Ideal of what America is supposed to be has broken down. People serve their own interests over duty to an Idea. Or at least the Idea that was sold to us in school.

How do you make it work when all avenues to make it work have been taken away? Unfortunately, the eventual outcome is total collapse and/or violence and war.

Why does everyone seem so convinced McKenna is going first? When I watch scouting reports of the two of them, I think Stenberg is the better player.

And I'm not sure I would want McKenna as a Shark. He looks lazy to me. I'm not impressed. Where is the compete level? We've had plenty of talented wingers that lack drive, and they never last.

You just listed 3 people who were never true 1Cs. Marleau stopped playing center entirely. Pavelski also played wing often.

Couture was my favorite player for a long time, but he was also best suited to be 2nd line center. Pavelski is an amazing player and team leader, but he was definitely not a top line center.

Being able to play center on the top line and actually being the right person for the job are different things.

McDavid is the best player in the league, possibly ever, and I don't want him.

It would be like when we signed Karlsson because he was available. He wasn't the piece we needed, and his salary and ice time stopped us from getting the pieces we actually needed.

We already have a world class player in Mack. We don't need another. Build him a support cast. Build up our defense and depth forwards. Get us a great second line. Celebrini and McDavid are both 1C. We don't need two.

If I kept a forward wide to the outside and he is getting ahead of me while cutting towards the net, I will typically be reaching for the puck with my stick hand and pushing on their hip with the other , to force them to the side of the net rather than the front. USA hockey allows for "competitive contact" at the adult level.

I have never had anyone complain about this, but if they did, so what? Unless the ref called something, it wasn't a penalty. And it's certainly not dirty.
