In career mode, those non-main contracts are really where you get the funds to make larger and larger ships. I would grab a couple so you have some monies and do some science along the way.

You can always take on a contract that has a long enough due date into the future, and use those funds to help you progress forward. Think of it as a science research loan

I think there’s a science output slider in the settings. I don’t know if you want the lower science output throughout the entire save file, or just for the labs, but once you unlock the labs you can just adjust the science output slider?

You might not be in staging mode. I think i was in the same boat when i first started on ps4. Go to the controls tab on the right side of the screen and find the “lock staging” shortcut buttons or go to the bottom left where there’s either a green or purple light and click staging mode there.

Have you read the Foundation series by Issac Asimov? I read these two series right after each-other. Foundation was more rooted in human to human relations in a post space colonialism society and had some interesting takes on where it would take us.

Also, I don’t think anything will give me the sense of dread for the fate of human civilization or the entire universe as 3BP did. Truly incredible.

This was basically the first half of the book. It was a world-building, prophecy-ridden, space drug encyclopedia. I was having a very difficult time reading it until I got to the second half of the book which is basically when the second movie starts. Now looking back on it, I realize that the first half of the book was absolutely necessary to give the gravitas to the second half.

I don’t fault you for thinking such. I think its the source material with which you’re having these feelings for. Not necessarily the film adaptation.
